I have vague memories of watching Voltron and Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs when I was really young but at the time to me they were just cartoons like any other. The first Japanimation (that's what we called it back then) I saw was the Fist of the North Star movie.

There was lots of older children's anime they showed in my country.
Moomins, Taotao, Maya the Honey Bee etc. Later on I also watched Sailor Moon and Rayearth.
In high school when I "actually" started watching anime I think I started with Oreimo, Clannad and NGE.
