i don't really watch much anime, most of it is stuff my fujo friends got me to watch back in school, but i think Evangelion is good and almost anyone can appreciate it

Tried showing JoJo on Netflix to my dad. He just repeatedly yelled at me saying "I don't like cartoons." until I changed it to a documentary. He said this was better than watching people kill each other. To each their own I guess

my parents watch and enjoy a lot of schlocky movies / TV, I tried a few times to tell them about some of the "better" series, more entry level decent stuff like Berserk or Death Note. I don't like over the top flamboyant anime that much but there are some really good stories / character driven series that I think people that like fiction would appreciate if they gave it a chance

not related this but this reminds me of when i took my elder father to see King Crimson for his birthday back in 2017. He used to be a big hippy and really into concerts and stuff like that so I thought that he would enjoy seeing them again. He went into a very melancholic and passive mood for the following couple of weeks after that some old people just dont seem to like to be reminded of their better days

The only anime I've ever shown my parents was Hellsing Ultimate Abridged and they thought it was hilarious.

My dad likes to watch stuff like Valkyrie Drive, Keijo, Senran Kagura, Hellsing, and Youjo Senki.

Especially RE4. I mean I love it to bits, but it's suuuuper anime.

GuP is unironically among the most important things in my life but I've never made someone sit down and watch it. Although my mother saw me playing Dream Tank Match and she thought it was neat.

Why? Games and anime are both just giant timesinks. I said video games can be worse because some people are more likely to get addicted to them. I don't hear about many people watching anime for 16 hours a day, especially with how shit so much anime is but, I hear many a people blowing 16+ hours a day playing video games

Also, lots of games are pretty mindless, like MMO or FPS while TV/movies/anime can have themes or messages that activate your almonds

Not him, but video games rely on just as many retarded tropes as anime does, they're on the same level of intellegence, which is why there's such a large overlap in the demographics

Of course there are other things that are important to me. It's probably more apt to say it's my favourite thing media wise.
