Study partner thread

Anyone here trying to learn programming and want someone to help them out?

I've been pretty bored/lonely lately and have no one to talk to, so would be nice to have someone to talk about my main interest (programming) in a way that I can feel useful.

Drop your discord or XMPP contact in thread if you're interested.

>tfw no one wants to learn the one career skill impervious to a global pandemic in the midst of a global pandemic
faggots

>tfw he thinks people aren't compsci chads in uni

I know how to program stuff already but im more than happy to help you. I dont use discord but I can make one maybe, idk. Reply and we can figure something out

maybe the OP wasn't clear enough, i've been working as a software engineer for 10 years. i'm looking FOR people who want to learn programming and/or just talk about programming in general, i don't need to learn programming myself.

>learning to program in uni
not gonna make it

Oh. Well I have barely written any code In the last year or two, I do a few practice problems now and then but not really. I am way more into maths lately. If you can help me with math I would love that.

i'm good/interested only in certain types of math. if you're into abstract algebra like group theory i can help with that. but if it's calculus type shit not so much unless you're struggling with the basics.

I just recently started getting into programming, so far just started with python but keeping myself straight while self studying is hard.

drop discord if you want and i'll help you out, python's the main language i use for personal projects

I'm interested but I don't want to post my discord on this terrible place. I'm not just starting out but it'd be nice to talk with someone who knows a lot more than me.

drop a throwaway email then and i'll mail you my discord as i also don't want to post my main discord here.

really OP, there is not much to know.

hey, I'm interested. could you tell me more about yourself, though? I'd like to be friends, too beyond just the programming.

i'm in my mid twenties, european, my interests are mainly programming and mathematics.
idk what you want to know that would be relevant, just ask, i don't want to write a dating profile tier bio.

Honestly the best way to learn to code is to come of with fun ideas for personal projects and then try to do them, learning everything you need to know along the way. Source: I write CSS/js part time for my univirsity's IT department

lmao, sorry, man. do you like outdoorsy shit? what languages do you speak? I'm trying to pick up another language along with improve my shitty programming.

Where you learning it from?

I am learning js right now. Once this pandemic stuff is over I plan on applying to jobs. Hopefully I can get my life on track

i exercise but i'm not into like going camping. but i've gone hiking in the past and enjoyed it, i do outside runs etc. i do speak another language fluently but, i wouldn't want to practice that with you because i dislike speaking it. but if you're learning german we could learn that together, i'm trying to learn that atm.

damn dude I'm all out of throwaways (not a lie, google doesn't let me make throwaway emails anymore), lol I could link you to a public discord then we could exchange discords there

yeah sure go for it oregano

Add me on discord Cross 3101 bro. I'm a programmer but I'm shit at it and need to keep on track.

books/MIT ocw

actually, OP here, i've made a server myself, for anyone that wants to join in general to then add me: qAcNH9

Noice dude, here's the invite link: invite.progdisc.club (type into internet browser and it will link to discord). I'll be inside the off-topic section.

Is this really OPie? I don't want to get trolled into going to the evil tranny discord that's also on r9k O_o

yes it's really OP, it's just an empty server, i (the OP) have a profile pic related to mathematics, and not a tranny anime profile pic, so you'll know it's me

there's a billion people in this server lol, how tf do i know who you are? just join the other server i posted

i sent you a req

>maybe the OP wasn't clear enough, i've been working as a software engineer for 10 years. i'm looking FOR people who want to learn programming and/or just talk about programming in general, i don't need to learn programming myself.
unifag here, I wouldn't mind that since I learn jack shit on my cs course. But I'm more or less braindead. I really want an internship to learn practically butt they want people who already know their stuff

I wish i had a buddy to learn SFM with

i wish i had a buddy go get pozzed with

i wish you didn't reply to my post and give me false hope you fucking cunt bag shitter.

are you still there? I'm learning web dev right now

kek quarantine this man he's getting aggressive

I left Python and SQL on a long hiatus, idk

i've got a long hiatus for you

I need help. I currently do html and css but am not very good at it. If you have any way to help it'll be very much appreciated.

if you're struggling with html/css the gap between our respective knowledge is too great and i wouldn't be the best person to help you out.

For CSS
developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/Reference
For HTML
w3.org
You gonna have to read all that
If you want to practice I recommend w3schools but do not give them any money.

I'd love to learn with the extra free time I've recently acquired!
macabrecadaver#8811

to be fair html/css is kind of a bitch and never behaves like you want it to most of the time, it's not really like other programming

sure but, that's more tedious than conceptually difficult. if you need help understanding what to do html/css-wise it usually means you're close to absolute beginner level.

im second year in uni, but I don't feel like I have many practical skills. i've done mostly C++ and a little webdev and python

OP here, apparently this infection shit ends up banning you eventually and i'm too lazy to bother resetting router, but i'll be monitoring the thread throughout the day and adding people who drop discord.

anyone is also free to join the server here and add me through there

How would feel about diving into Angular9/JavaEE/Spring?

i'm more on the python/go/c/c++/functional langs side of things, in terms of interest and expertise.

I only know the basics and haven't touched it in years. You probably wouldn't want a complete newb

how to code a cure for this infection *coof*

I'm studying javascript, but so slowly..

I'm up to dom manipulation and all I know is textContent and that's it

Check edabit, bros. It's about little challenges so that you can practice your skills.

Have you tried /g/, op? It's all about programming there...

no, /g/ is about consumerism, and the average /g/ poster is even more autistic and insufferable than the average robot

whats the best beginner language one can learn? I'll pick up programming during this quarantine

depends on what you want to do, but python is a good general beginner lang

>depends on what you want to do
say I want to turn this hobby into a career, how many languages am I supposed to learn? sorry if the question is retarded, Im just a complete beginner

ahem a-ahem.. test... COOOOOOOOOFFFF
