>got laid off last week >was not considered "critical personnel" >activated the killswitch last night >3 missed calls from work >whatsapp message "user do you know why x isn't working?" >replied "sorry not working there anymore not my responsibility"
Fuck yeah! The productivity scripts / apps were all set up and now they threw me out like garbage. Now they will suffer and have to do things the old fashioned way. Ungrateful cunts!
goodjob user, that's pretty funny. can you provide screenshots?
Christian Miller
Top fucking kek.

>Based Unemploytard.

user just so you know, everything logged that you did unless you have some shitty as fuck linux setup. Windows will log it, Windows server will log it, your fucking IP is logged, as is your account that did it.

If they were smart enough to look at the logs then they wouldn't need to contact OP in the first place.

remember the episode of forensic files where some dude pretty much made a sleep one month and delete everything script when he learned that he was getting fired? morons didn't even have any backups they found at he did it by cracking open HDDs and using special tools to read them
Anthony Garcia
You could face criminal charges for that you know. It is essentially destruction of property. Your company was within their legal right to lay you off. You were not in the legal right to destroy or interfere with their operations in any way, even if you only targeted the work you did for them. If I were them I'd present your personal information to the police and file criminal charges.
Charles Richardson
And by killswitch I literally just mean disabling endpoints and pushing code with early terminating return statements.
So they either have to hire a new IT guy at higher wage and end up losing more money or suffer the consequences of extreme low productivity. Either way they lose. FUCK EM!
t. people who have never held a sysadmin role sorry OP glad u did something
Logan Lee
Big if true
Jose Wood
why did you (You) me? I never stated OP did or did not do something that he did or did not do
Aaron Richardson
Sorry I accidentally quoted you.
Hunter Rivera
You fucked up. You should have said you work as a contractor now and they could hire you for 300% your old pay.
Zachary Hernandez
He clearly revealed himself as a larper but honestly with how shit some companies' IT is you could probably get away with subtle sabotage. My company is small and for the longest time we had a semi public git and I had full access over it, with nearly no supervision over what I was doing. Now that we have an actual sysadmin and a private one it would be harder but fucking them over would be as easy as "forgetting" the password to the app keystores since no one knows they're a thing that's needed. Or disabling one of the hodgepodge scripts that helps out our sales/ops people. Granted I would do none of that because I'm not an asshole and I actually like my coworkers
Logan Anderson
the place I took over from was working wihthe MSP to fuck over the entire company and was getting part of the MSP fees.
Basically he had asked them to set up the network, turned out they purposely would cut out access to it at certain times, he'd pretend to play with it, insist they had to come out, they'd come out "immediately" for like $1000 callout fee within the hour and promise of a fix within the hour (which always happened) and they'd split 50/50
This only was revealed because I started looking into what the fuck was going on after the mysterious downtimes never happened with me
Jordan Thompson
So what makes me a larper? I got the killswitch idea from /g/ and you'd be surprised how tech illiterate these people are. I didn't do anything complicated and they have no idea how to fix it.
Perhaps. It's a scummy company anyway. I got all their data / client data but I don't think i'll use it maliciously. It's nice to have that access to real data for dev purposes.
Xavier Jackson
Yeah that's DEFINITELY criminal. Regardless of whether you're going to use that data for criminal purposes or not. You gained unauthorized access and stole personal information. You absolutely should be arrested for that. I'd be pretty pissed if I was a customer and I found out that some asshole kid walked away with all my data because he was being a petty child about being laid off.
Chase Reed
So did you give all the money back they paid you for the work you undid? Asking for a friend.
Gabriel Perez
never happened
Chase Stewart
Go ahead and make a call to the Cyberpolice. I'm waiting.
>Implying they have any real tech staff and aren't just using antiquated software from the 90's.
Adrian Cruz
please tell what you did

Pretending to be cool is one thing. But pretending to be cool on /g? Damn dude.

ITT: bootlickers flipping out over workplace sabotage. OP was completely justified in his actions.
Nicholas Gray
yeah maybe but this: >replied "sorry not working there anymore not my responsibility" was just childish
Zachary Lewis
Well how did you do it
Camden Brooks
This is the /g/ equivalent of teens vandalizing property and uploading the evidence on TikTok
Kayden Edwards
That's not childish at all, what fucking loser would spend his free time helping people out who just laid him off? It literally isn't his responsibility, he doesn't work for them.
Matthew Brooks
Is it just me or is it getting crazier out there?
Good job OP
Dylan Jones
he might have "destroyed" the company property, retard
Isaac James
Good subtle sabotage means "sandboxing" a critical script as your user so when they purge your account in ad you're not legally liable for it. It's merely not best practice, not computer crimes
Joshua Foster
I'm sure the person you just called retard understands that the company just got fucked, why are you sticking up for shitheads who lay off at the drop of a hat?
Wyatt Perry
sysadmin isn't shitting on his revenge, he's shitting on his inability to cover his tracks you illiterate 1-or-0 overassuming fuck
Jose Cooper
Absolutely based if true.

I've done similar things when I was a free lance web developer developer. Usually I did pay half before, pay the other half after. In the contract the ownership of the website didn't transfer until the after payment. So usually if I wasn't payed in 3 weeks, as stated in the contract, the website would re-direct to a generic html page saying site owner didn't finalize payment for the site.
Dylan Long
this is "coughing on random people and telling them you have coronavirus" tier behavior. You're acting like a literal child.
