That is also a reason I hate Belgium, and I do think Leo was pretty based as monarchs go. Not Dutch though, was born here and can speak and understand the language for all practical purpouses, but actually from Ireland.

i kinda have a soft spot for them and theyve made some nice art and literature but really theyre quite a juvenile nation, but in a way that adds to their cuteness. I just wish they werent so hung up on hating the english. If they were at least really genuinely nationalistic it wouldnt bother me as much but their nationalism starts and ends, mostly, with 'we hate the english and define ourselves as antithetical to them' and it sucks, especially as someone who is english, to see ireland do what everyone else is doing and to see dublin turn into paris but have the irish people exclusively hate you for archaic reasons which most of them dont even really understand

With how Britains been all fucky wucky with NI-ROI trade post-brexit I think the past couple of years have been as good a time as any to hate on the Brits. And past reasons to hate brits aren't really that archaic given that it was only in the 80s that Thatcher was funding paramilitary squads in North Ireland. That being said I do agree it's a waste of time to be hung up on hating the English, but if you talk to actual people living in Ireland very few people are hellbound on hating all Englishmen, for most people insults against the English are usually just lighthearted ribbing or a cheap laugh. Now "Irish-Americans", they're a group worth hating for everyone involved.

I know it's not always easy to be positive, everyone has moments in their life where all they want to do is give up or not even attempt something-
It's important to have people in your life that help you overcome that sometimes and motivate you, even if it's just because you want to care for them.
Constant positivity is bad and impossible, but just caring for each other and making each other's lives better is what I'm after.

it was long distance for a few months but I visited twice, they paid half the ticket. They were an engineer and made monies from crypto. He was great, but we decided it'd be best to stay seperate because I have different life plans.
