Are there any legit signs of high IQ? Is there some way you could tell whether someone has high IQ...
>intelligence is very closely related to growing up in a healthy environment - getting adequate nutrition
Being malnourished wl lower your IQ, so will being hit in the head by a truck, but most of us are not malnourished.
>being intelectually stimulated(tipically, by educated parents).
This is false. Several programs have attempted to increase IQ, even from an early age, and while using your brain often will make you do a little better on an IQ test, it isn't like you can keep increasing it, and those effects disappear once you stop. However, saying this at all is a little misleading. Is a sleepy person less intelligent than a fully awake person? Well, yeah, in a way.
>African countries have absolute shit IQ results, which is related to their intelligence. However, it is clearly a matter of correlation only: those countries are also poor and violent, so if you understood what I said before you will understand why they're not as smart as the european countries
No, there's still a significant gap even when you control for environment.
>No gene appears to be correlated to intelligence
Yes there are.
>when tests account for similar upbringings, the difference in intelligence dissapears
No it doesn't.
You're just blatantly lying. Adoption studies have found that when a white couple adopt an Asian or black baby, do those babies grow up with a white IQ? Nope. Not at all. Their adoptive parents' IQ is completely unrelated to their own. They end up having an Asian and black IQ, and overall cognitive profile.
That depends on what you call a genius. Someone who fails to use his talent because of repeated bad choices is not smart in my opinion.
And no, relative income is the best indicator of intelligence, and it has a modest causal effect. It doesnt mean all rich people are geniuses or that all poor people are morons, but in terms of all decision making, communication skills, problem solving, etc. you will have a much easier time finding intelligent people among the wealthy.
To an extent I agree that race, the style of clothes someone wears, and size of family are indicators but those wont have the same magnitude. People are much more likely to value money than any of those
>gene
Actually in terms of genetics regression to the mean plays into it. Feel free to identify any single gene or coupling that will make someone intelligent lol
Yeah, they become doctors, lawyers, scientists, and engineers, mathematicians.
Many human traits aren't decided by just having or not having certain genes.
You try to use this picture to prove something, but are clearly not familiar with basic concepts in biology.
There are a lot of genes related with intelligence, it isn't just as simple as having the most of them.
Having one 'turned off', in combination with others 'turned on', might actually boost your intelligence compared to the ones who have them all 'turned on'.
Nature vs nurture is still a debate, but the one thing that is very clear is that both matter.
Also: countries with worse education, will have a negative impact on the inhabitants' scores on iq tests
