I have Cat C + CPC so I can drive dustcarts, gritters and other stuff professionally already. It's only Cat C+E I miss and I failed it because I was too weak to pull out these air lines (pic) while uncoupling/coupling the trailer on the test. I could pass it now and I'm going to go back once things settle down but I don't want to drive C+E. Most of those jobs are tramping where you have to basically make it your life living in the grim conditions which would completely wank me off because I like to stick to strict routines.

I've applied for volunteer transport things but they never get back. I want to drive dustcarts, gritters and stuff like that has set working hours and the same routes every day and I'm also already qualified to do so, and since many of those are council roles they have perks that horrible mistreated LGV agencies don't give. I just have no urgency in doing these things because bennies are covering my rent and all my living costs and I still have everyday struggles

I'd do anything, I just don't see anything else being realistic. I'm not employable, I'd go to an access to HE course but again, I'm 27 this summer and I don't know what I'd even study so it seems pointless. I predict I wouldn't last very long at all studying something around university aged people, I'd be isolated even if I was there age, ageism would exacerbate that problem to even greater heights.

I don't really see myself digging myself out of the NEET loner hole at all anymore. I can't rationalise my existence at all but i'm under no illusion that thing's would get better if I was employed. I'd most likely live the same life but have to endure some sort of workplace bullying while I rapidly age into a weird middle aged person nobody has any sympathy for, while I look alright and young people have this sympathy for me but when I'm in my 30s and 40s nobody will have any sympathy and driving lorries will make no difference, also my parents aren't young or healthy so they'll probably die when I'm around my mid 30s, when they die I'll be totally isolated as they are the only people I talk to in real life
