I had two! I spread one very carefully so the wings were shown. But I was too depressed to stop my mom from throwing it out. I gave the other mantis to a friend for her school assignment.

I don't like super polished and refined gems. My collection mostly consists of stuff I found in rock pits + things I bought from Wicca hippie stores. I don't have any geodes. Have some fossils, though. Recently bought a huge piece of kyanite.

So it's super complicated but basically I have envisioned a universe where there are cycles of civilizations reaching space and then collapsing back into primordial ooze, then back up to another space age. My favourite story right now takes place in a world that consists of bizarre human alien hybrids created when human and alien coupled used gene splicing to create offspring. The soace age ended and the weird hybrids lived and developed a society on another planet. However, because the hybrids were already ingelligent, they proceeded a lot of evolutionary steps so there are no "mammals", no flowers, etc.
I really like Lovecraft so I imagined these extradimensional beings that sometimes get "stuck" at a fixed point or in an object in this world. People think it's just wonderful benelovent magic but it's actually a trapped eldeitch monster trying to feed off their misery and chaos long enough to break free from this material realm. Chaos insues.
I've written, like, a whole history for these people beginning with their arrival on this planet after the hybridization lab crashed. They are really far from modern tech but I am having fun.
