I'm usually wary of online dating in general because it seems like it only attracts normies. You find a lot of low-functioning men and college students that are very bland, shallow and somehow even worse than you at holding a conversation. You don't really like anyone and even if you try it doesn't go anywhere anyway.

That said I understand that it's a platform where people are expected to play up their normieness to seem more attractive and successful socially. I gave up quickly but if you're determined to find someone local for a romantic relationship tinder and okcupid are probably your best bet. Personally I'd rather look in a community like r9gay and try to find someone that's not necessarily local, but close enough to travel to. A wider net makes your search more successful.
