Depends on the school. Some even use machines and like 3x10 90s style bodybuilding routines. Others do only calisthenics. It's almost like wrestling is the most important thing for wrestling and S&C isn't that important.

Wrestlers can benefit a lot from the weight room. However, during season, a full body routinex2 is probably all they should do.
Most wrestlers, training program involves wrestling, wrestling and cardio. During the off season they might do more of ULxUL or PPL.
An absolute fuck ton of cardio and a mild gym routine perhaps 3 days a week mostly focused on low reps heavy weight

Personally all I did was constant live wrestling. 3+ hours a day. Never really went to the gym. Also an almost unhealthy amount of weight cutting that brought my BMI below 5%

I lifted often in HS, hypertrophy and powerlifting routines, a shit ton of calisthenics and distance running, and stuff like this every fucking day. Legitimately the best shape of my life but all I wanted to do was eat, fuck and sleep 14 hours a day.

Meanwhile you're not doing maximum full body exertion for a short 30 or so seconds but pacing yourself for something with speed and precision and reaction oriented smaller movements (not that wrestling is slow or doesn't require good reaction or that Boxing doesn't require strength).

It's not bullshit. A boxer wrestling a wrestler would lose, just like a boxer wrestling a gigantic powerlifter would lose. They use all out strength and you use precision.
