Why aren't you using the objectively superior neutral grip for pull ups?

extremely based

Why?

Healthier for your shoulder, allows you to move more weight, works all muscles involved in pull ups and chin ups with a much better intensity distribution.

Because I never need to climb up on to something with two outward facing poles a foot apart.

Sounds like it’s easier and you don’t want to do the harder alternative

I never know which grip I should use

as we all have much time for as many pull ups as we can because of that fucking virus, I just use any grip possible

12-13 sets of pull ups

narrow grip, hammer grip, chin-up..

You do the most natural movement and add weight until its hard.

Face it tubby, you never climb anything anyway.

because I don't have neutral grip

Wtf is a neutral grip

add weights you fucking dumb bitch

on rock, usually, i use the pull up movement more. so thats what i train the most

Neutral is good but holy shit are neutral close grip pullups coomworthy

I do because I have to sneak into playgrounds to do pull-ups on the monkey bars.
I could also alternate between sets before cops in hazmats try to catch me again.

Your schools are still open?
In bongistan we're allowed outside but parks are fucking packed, people here are doing pullup routines on scaffolding to avoid crowds

Here in New York all playgrounds are closed so I bought a pullup/dip station

You should do tabasco pull-ups. That's where you pour hot sauce all over your hands to make it harder to grip the bar and on your way up you rub one of your eyes on one of your hands, alternating sides each rep.

kek

Why aren't you doing them all?

I do both neutral grip and overhand. What are the real differences between the two in terms of results? All I noticed is neutral is easier on my wrist

Slight shift in muscle activation in the forearm, nothing to really worry about.

sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S1050641116302978?via=ihub

"Results indicate that EMGPEAK and EMGARV of the shoulder-arm-forearm complex during complete repetitions of pull-up variants are similar despite varying hand orientations; however, differences exist between concentric and eccentric phases of each pull-up."

Lads, my wife and I have a son now and we’re trying to improve our backyard and make it better for him when he’s older. I’m content with something like pic related, but my wife thinks we might as well put something more elaborate into place. Thoughts?

She is suggesting something like this:

Full rock-climbing home gym so you can scream at him and make him do circuits of it so when he gets to lifting age he already has unmoggable tendons and is basically injury proof.

Or this:

Second one doesn't offer a huge amount of extra functionality but looks more fun desu.

that's pretty good, just get a pair of rings & a weighted belt
add a ladder so that he can start working out at age 2

neutral grip is basically a chinup that's easier on the wrists, like you said

again, closer to a chinup than a pullup, especially due to how close the grips are

easier on the shoulder too, fully extended chin up position is unnatural as fuck

>tall bar to hang rings, rope to climb, a swing etc
>monkey bars
>low bar to swing and do kids stuff, plus inverted rows
>horizontal bar to do dips and climb
that's what I would build, net and fireman pole could be fun for kids too I guess

neutral grip is fine
neutral grip with that close of a grip is for babby

I am

Because I have rings. I think you guys probably have dainty little wrists and are too weak to do false grip pullups on rings.

Also I think I would put neutral grip at the end of the list of grips I would use. Overhand more carry over to climbing and harder. Underhand if my elbows are tweaky or I wanto some more bicep work for under grips.

The fun aspect is huge to me. I’m not trying to train my son, I’m trying to build an environment where, growing up, he develops a clear and obvious relationship between using his muscles and enjoyment.

>false grip for regular pull ups

This is so retarded. Your entire post is retarded.

Close grip with close elbows and a hollow chest will put more emphasis on arms and chest. So if you are looking at getting some work in like Pullovers with the added benefits of arm work, I can see doing these.

Ditto

>t. baby wrists

Not really much fun for a kid to have on the first one you posted

I'm on Long Island and the school by was open last week

I can do false grip pull ups. I just don't for the same reason I don't shit in my porridge in the morning.

Besides, its flexibility not strength which holds the majority back.

You should also do band assisted pull-ups, so that you can add even more weights. Genius.

Yeah, agreed, that’s why I’m leaning towards the fancier setup even though for training purposes the first one would suit me just fine.

>I have a son
*your wife's son cuck

Based and checked. I do all three main grips (I neglect neutral often though). I alternate between chin ups and pull ups during the week.

It's absolutely not.

fpbp

are you actually retarded? Do you not see the difference between those things?

Keep telling yourself that babycakes. Nobody gives a fuck about your faggy wrist flexibility.

but you can picture yourself climbing up onto something using a supinated grip? or are you saying you dont bother dont pullups at all?

i do 3 circuits of 12-15 reps, 3 sets, alternating pullup/chinup/neutral grip

is this ok?

>not using ropes wrapped around the bar for maximum hand gains
ngmi

for me its neutral grip band-assisted kipping pullups

Lost

Because I do superior lat pulldowns. Have fun injuring yourself doing pull ups

Very nice. Get the reps. Noobs arguing grip probably don’t do enough sets.

Based asf, I wish my dad made me one of those

I have never injured myself doing pull ups but once I was doing lat pulldowns and the bar slipped and hit me in the face

The bar didn’t slip, you lost your grip lol. Don’t make it seem like it was the bar’s fault.

why so many pull up technique threads recently? just do all of them you fucking spergs

it was the bars fault im not wrong fuck you

lockdown.
the good part is that corona-chan will finally make the world realise the superiority of bodyweight

>tabasco
lmao look at this dyel, I reached pepper spray after two weeks
