All you fags crying about the gyms being closed, why didn't you have a homegym in the first place?

This board is flooded with these posts, and I'm being 100% serious. Home gyms are vastly superior.

Regular Gym:
>People everywhere
>People hogging equipment
>People who don't shower
>Gross locker rooms
>People who don't wipe down eqipment
>Mersa, colds, flu, etc.
>Gay music
>Once a year, everybody in the world shows up
>You have to adopt their hours
>People lifting freeweights in stupid places
>People who obviously can't count to 10 and don't know how to rerack weights
>It's more expensive than a home gym.
>Having to drive there. You're probably spending over $300+ on gas every year.

Home Gym:
>Cheaper
>not having to wait
>Instantly work out
>Workout whenever you want
>Nobody smells
>Nobody hogs anything
>You can eat a freshly prepared meal immediately afterwards since you're near your kitchen. I usually cook between sets
>No resolutioners
>Listen to whatever the fuck you want.

What's the reason you don't have a home gym?

>it's too expensive!
It's cheaper than going to a gym, and you can find most equipment for cheap if not free

>I don't have room!
You aren't serious about lifting. There's always room. There's room in an apartment. There's room at home with mommy. Stop making excuses.

I mean this is Yas Forums so I'll probably just get dismissed without explanation by somebody who has been lifting for less than one year (need2eatmoar / POAST BODY / ok boomer / accused of being jewish / etc) but I'm 100% serious about this. There's no reason not to have one if you're serious about lifting.

I like the crew there and the regulars always there the same time as me. I've made a lot of social gains at my gym.
Clearly you could use some, too.

teach me on how to get "cheap if not free" equipment

Maybe 10-20% of this board is "serious about lifting"
The rest don't lift or are first year skinny fats who were making excuses long before the virus

Pathetic attempt at justifying your dumb behavior. If you're at the gym to make friends or referring to it as "social gains," you don't have anything to teach me (or any non-basement dweller) about how to make friends in the first place. Stay beta you fucking loser

Why does everybody act like this is a huge mystery? Have you guys ever looked online for equipment? Have you ever been to a yard sale? Have you ever left your house? I can't tell you how many times I see workout equipment just sitting in people's yards with a "FREE" sign on them. I got an entire olympic bench set with like 300lbs of weight for 100% free from a friend of a friend. Just look online, look at craigslist, or ask around from your family and friends. You could also ask this user since he clearly has such amazing "social gains" he's probably super networked.

This unironically. This board is fucking shit. Sometimes I like to pop back in but it's always really obviously people who see the need to better themselves but lack the discipline to do it.

I'm a neet it's the only way I can mog people or check out cute girls

>moeshit weeb poster sperging out
>calls user who easily counters OP argument beta
this thread is pathetic already
unironcially cope harder

I'm renting an apartment. There's no room. If I had room I would do it tho. For how much I'm paying right now and depending on how serious I made my setup it would pay for itself after 2-4 years.

"sperging out" != calling people out for making stupid excuses

Samefag fails to understand what "argument" means.

Cry as hard as you want, but the idea that you're citing the gym as your primary social outlet just shows you're there to bullshit and not seriously workout. You can be serious about fitness and not make the gym your entire life, but I guess you are so wise in the ways of "social gains" that I should sit at your feet. That's why you're bragging about it on a japanese knitting board like a total Chad.

Reality check -- that's a fucking terrible "argument" about why don't have a home gym. And while you're posturing over something this stupid, I'm going to continue getting fucking shredded and fuck my 9/10 girlfriend while you've lost what apparently was your only social outlet (along with all your gains).

Also, just a tip, don't call it "social gains." You sound fucking autistic.

projection

You still have room, you just don't realize it.

Think I'm lying? Post apartment. I guarantee you have room for freeweights, resistance bands, a punching bag, and AT LEAST a bench -- if not a bench with a squat rack. You probably have room for cardio equipment too, honestly.

People just aren't serious about fitness, which is why 99% of the people at the gym don't even look like they work out.

How the fuck are you calling people beta when all you do is post weeb gifs and wrtie essays about why their method of working out is wrong. get off your pc sometimes retard

>calling people beta and then posting Chinese cartoons for little kids

Attached: AF5CD7CC-3109-4163-81F7-77CCFFBD6DA3.jpg (900x900, 319.1K)

>primary social outlet

Attached: 1556708864643.gif (400x225, 2.68M)

Because some of us have $10 on hand but not $500-1000 dumbass.

i live in a tiny apartment with no room and since I have a roommate, I don't think they'd be too fond if I got rid of the dining room and put in a bench or some shit

Imagine being an elitist about where you lift.

I stopped going public two whole years ago.

Making it about anything other than addressing the argument at hand. Enjoy your quarantine while I continue get fucking massive.

>when all you do is post weeb gifs and wrtie essays about why their method of working out is wrong.

That's not "all i do," which is the entire point of the fucking thread. Work smarter faggot.

Samefag is wounded that I called him beta on Yas Forums like 10 posts ago. He must be stressed out since he's such a social butterfly with all his social prowess.

It doesn't cost nearly that much to have a solid home gym, but I guess I'm the dumbass.

You don't have your own room? You keep repeating "I don't have room" I don't buy it. I've lived in an efficiency with roommates and had room.

Imagine having a place to lift right now while 95% of the losers on this website are on fucking suicide watch. Besides, nobody is being elitist about it, i'm seriously asking for reasons why people go to public gyms over having a home one, and nobody gave a real answer besides they aren't that serious about lifting.

Another person serious about their fitness and their wallet.

This whole thing has been a huge eye-opener for me. Having to scramble together whatever equipment I can has me questioning why I pay monthly for that dog shit gym full of undesirables. Nothing they offer can't be replicated with a pull-up bar, barbell and pair of dumbells
I doubt I will ever set foot in a gym ever again

Attached: 1560610220354.jpg (2018x2500, 448.74K)

post body then

I already own a dumbell but assuming I need a few that's $60-100 bucks.
Same for a bench, the bench rack and squat rack, presumably a good pull up bar, and that's only the basics. You're retarded.

Also this. Do it. Post body. That's all you need to do on Yas Forums to prove someone wrong. Post it and I'll never return to a gym again, instead I'll save up months worth of cash to buy a $500 home gym. Fucking do it.

since youre a gigachad and better than everyone on this board post youre dyel bloatlord body

BECAUSE I LIVE IN LITERALLY 12 SQUARE METERS. I LITERALLY DO NOT HAVE THE SPACE FOR A RACK FAG.

my room is small. Not a whole lot of space in there unless I want to cram myself in like a sardine.

I wish I had a doorframe that would take a pullup bar but my fuckin' bathroom is too small for the one I just got (why the fuck the doorframe is so small, I'll never know) and the wall isn't wide enough on my other doors to do so.

Might try and get one of those more basic ones though, that might fit

You cant lift heavy shit in a rented appartment
Not saying yiu can't do anything
Just not heavy weights

>Home gyms are cheaper
No they're not, spending 1500 on a gym over 12 years is pretty much the same as free.
Not that 1500 dollars is anything more than pocket change, the fact this is a talking point about home gyms just shows the plebeian nature and far reaching mental HOMELESSNESS that the people here suffer from.

A friend of mine has a bench on 10 square meters. He folds it up when not used or uses it as a chair, does zercher squats with the rackpins inverted. Pretty cool setup desu.

Because over my 3 year journey I have moved a lot around in my country. From living with my parents to going to university and going on internships.

If I would visit my family and staying over there I could use the same membership I was using at university/internships.

However now that university is comming to a close I can start with the home gym.

This.

Like I said, typically Yas Forumsisms that don't address the argument.

Again, somebody who completely ignores my argument, asserts bullshit as true, and namecalls like a child. See the attached image. That's all stuff less than 20 minutes away and I live an hour from the closest major city. You can bullshit yourself and probably your fat friends but you're not bullshiting me. Those few ads alone are enough for a whole home gym for less than $10.

That's enough room, but you can keep raging with caps lock on. Do you have a doorframe? Boom. Pull up bar. There are benches that are barely 8 x 6 feet.

The difference between this guy and the previous user is that he's actually looking at what he has and is trying to make it work. If there's a will there's away.

Yeah, you can. You're just refusing to accept it. Again, give REASONS why and address the argument. So far, nobody here has done this.

Yes, they are, You do not to spend $1500 to have a home gym. People keep insisting this, but it's not true.

This is actually a decent argument, but the only thing I'll throw in here is you're too late to start making one in many places since everyone is on quarantine.

>It doesn't cost nearly that much to have a solid home gym, but I guess I'm the dumbass.

Walk me through it, then. I'd love to stop depending on these garbage gyms.

I dont give a shit bout what you have to say faggot
again ,post your body and if you're as shredded as you say i'm buying a home gym right now
why are you avoiding it that much?

I just posted a fucking image.

If you're this stubborn that you're not even going to read what I write and insist it's impossible to get workout equipment cheap, then you're going to have a lot more problems in life.

So dumb

Post body or I will fucking postpone buying the home gym I want for a year when I can just because you're a confirmed fat dyel who can't post body.

then your point remains unproven you insecure retard

I've actually had warnings from the landlord from noisecomplaints of the lower appartment in my previous place.

Yes you can.

You can but you can also get evicted for it, risk i rather not take again

Having a home gym is cheaper
>No it aint
Yes it is, you can find equipment cheap online
>No u can't. it's $1500
Go online, go on craiglist. ask around. It's not expensive. Lightly used worktout equipment is easier to come by than fat chicks at a bar
>NO IT'S 1500
Okay, here's a picture from craigslist. Kettle bells for $1, dumbells for $2, a barely used bow flex for $1, olympic weights and a whole workout set for $1
>POAST BODY

>why are you avoiding it that much?

It's amazing how stupid this board is.

Have you noticed that basically every argument on Yas Forums comes down to "post body," someone posts it, but it doesn't resolve anything?

Let's say I posted it and I was fucking swole, people would say I'm on gear. ANYONE CAN LOOK LIKE THAT IF THEY CHEAT BRO. People would insinuate I was too big.

So let's say I posted it and I was at the natty limit or had an otter build. People would say LOL NEED2EATMOAR / DYEL because they wouldn't think I was big enough.

So let's say I was doing a bulk and was in bear mode so I had massive arms, huge legs and a belly. People would just say "LOL STRONGFAT PERMABULK BLOATLOARD etc."

It's literally always what happens. It's stupid. All I will say is that I won the national fitness award and was an athlete all through high school, I lifted all through high school, was in the infantry in the US Army and did fitness sliterally as part of my job, had a 280 PT score and was running 2 miles in 13:52, lifted all through college, and have been using my home gym for 5+ years now.

Even so, it wouldn't even fucking matter what I looked like because none of that has any bearing on the point that it doesn't cost $1500 to build a home gym.

You can deflect
You can make it about whatever you want
You can cry a fucking river
You can namecall
The fact is you can build a home gym for way cheaper than a yearly gym membership.

You can build a solid home gym for less than $200.

I already proved it.

>Home gym
>Cheaper

Pick one.

I normally work out at Metroflex for $20/month.

>"sperging out" != calling people out for making stupid excuses
>Samefag fails to understand what "argument" means.

$1500 is a stretch. I pickup up a 300lb set with a bar for $300, and a squat rack with a bench attachment for $50. Buying extra weights for DL is like maybe $100. So around $450, which isn't terrible considering gas money you save + no gym membership.

Fuck oops you were being sarcastic

my adjustable dumbells were like 500 i think. Foldable bench was less than 1 hundred. So we break even at 30 months.

Post. Body.

Based rationalist user. Everything he said is true.
I own my home gym since ten years and it had followers me from my student 15 square meter room to my three floor house. And now I'm enjoying it to the fullest.

Sit-Up bench, free weights, kettle bells, exercise bike for cardio.

And I am a fat slob...so I am with TC.

Attached: 1572894834022.jpg (574x596, 45.24K)

I want a place to go when I don't want to be home and I don't know where else to go?
I like the added pressure of guys much stronger than me.
I like using the silly meme equipment occasionally.
I like knowing I have to push myself or I'll just be another dyel in the way of dudes that lift heavy.
I like having a pool and sauna.
I like regulars I never speak to coming up to me out if the blue to compliment me on my progress.
I like having an excuse to disappear from all of my responsibilities and get away with it because going to the gym is a respectable reason to get out of something.

Attached: 1585937382720.png (692x677, 537.68K)

where's the pic of the homegym?

> I need others to motivate me by relying on downward social comparison

Then you're a fucking idiot. Why is everyone just ignoring the fact that I literally just posted an image of all this shit for like $5 total?

As an aside, adjustable dumbbells are NOT $500.

This is true but you could always do it cheaper.

>posts smarmy image instead of responding to sound arguments

Okay, $20 a month? That's $240 a year (not including gas).

The picture I posted? That's a bow flex, kettle bells, olympic weights, a bench, leg machine, tricep machine for

Post BODY

Please explain to everybody how this will change your mind as to whether or not you can get gym equipment cheap.

Post HOMEGYM

>Nobody smells
except you

Please explain to everybody how this will change your mind as to whether or not you can get gym equipment cheap.

True but it's your own smell.
Also I shower so I don't smell bad.

Because I’m not a shut in weirdo and I like to interact with people. That being said I’m still building a gym in my garage because this fucking sucks.

I dont really think now is a good time to post this. Home gym equipment has literally gone through the room in the last few weeks.

Ive only just started lifting/coming to this board but i'd need to build an entire room outside to house the equipment. Lost my job a week before the quarantine started so no income.

To be fair though all your replies in this thread have motivated me to get my own home gym. Im gonna start drawing up some plans now.

Thanks based rational user

People are ignoring that image because its a fucking lie. You call those people and watch them ask you for $500.

We all know you know nothing of social gains kek. Post body fucking gross anime poster

he thinks it all costs $5
nice b8 nigger

I heard this rumor you can have friends and interact with people outside the gym.

Not true, see . Even so, the point wasn't "go out and bulid a home gym now." The point is you should have probably had one by now if you're serious about lifting because going to a gym is grossly inefficient and sucks.

You're seriously this invested in being this thick headed. It's like a disability at this point. There's literally nothing I can show you to get you to stop believing you can get exercise equipment cheap.

Samefag and pathetic

I want a picture please

Lmao tldr post body

If I see someone put $1/$2 for weights they mean $1 per pound, not $1 for a set of weights. $500+ isn't "cheap if not free".
