/fat/ fuckup edition

>Who is /fat/ for?
For dough elementals who want to better themselves through meaningful hard-work, strategy, and dedication.
This is not QTDDTOT, stick to questions on fat loss

>What do I do first?
1. Read the Yas Forums sticky
liamrosen.com/fitness.html
2. Calculate your Body Fat Percentage
fitness.bizcalcs.com/Calculator.asp?Calc=Body-Fat-Navy
3. Calculate your BMI
nhlbi.nih.gov/health/educational/lose_wt/BMI/bmicalc.htm
4. Calculate your TDEE
sailrabbit.com/bmr/ (complex)
fitnessfrog.com/calculators/tdee-calculator.html (simple)
5. Plan your weight loss week by week
losertown.org/eats/cal.php
6. Track your calories and macros with MyFitnessPal or Cronometer. Don't listen to memes, either of these are fine based on what you need
myfitnesspal.com (better for packaged food)
cronometer.com (better for generic food/tracking micronutrients)

>Now what do I do?
Count calories, all of them.
Calculate your TDEE at sedentary
Buy scales, be accurate in your measurements
Learn how to cook. Try to stick to lean protein and green vegetables.
Eat a lot of protein. 1g per lb of goal body weight.
Do cardio. Even if its just walking, cardio will improve your health which is sorely needed. There is no such thing as a healthy fat heart, but you can off set the risks.
Lift weights. This will keep and gain muscle mass and burn fat much quicker. No lifting results in the body burning away muscle AND fat. You don't want this.
Post your height/weight/screenshot of MFP/Cronometer food log when asking for advice

>DON'T
Eat refined sugars, they're terrible for you regardless of calorie count
Eat processed foods, or at least try to avoid if possible
Drink your calories. Alcohol, soda, hot chocolate, fancy starbucks shit. forget it.
Freak out over a stall in weight loss. Plateaus can last up to three weeks.
"Reward" yourself.
Be a retard.

What was your greatest weight related fuckup? A couple of years ago I lost 40 kg in 7 months and decided that I needed a "break" from weightloss for a month or two. Months turned into years and I gained all of it back. I've started my weightloss journey again last year and i've lost 66 kg so far, 4 kg more and the goal is achieved.

Had a dream where I gained all the weight back and then some.

I dun goof'd last week and had too much Pizzer. I didn't gain or lose weight. Fuck me.

>tfw 232 lbs
>3 months in and I'm 240lbs

I dont understand bros, Im cutting like 500 cal/day

Are you counting exercise into your daily calorie expenditure?

1) You're still eating more calories than you think.
2) You need to make alternative food choices.

I didn't start losing weight until I cut out 99% of all dairy/cheese, 99% of all carbs like bread, pasta, noodles etc.

It was a little expensive, but I switched over to a loosely enforced carnivore diet.

You must give up sodas (regular and diet), candy, chips and other junky snacks.

Limit fast food to only once a week.

You can never go back to the old ways. If you do, you'll blow up again.

When you're ready, making the changes will be easy.

Just ordered two medium pizzas and a bunch of sides from Pizza Hut, god I'm gonna CONSOOOOM

I'm thinking of buying an elliptical again for my home gym but fuck I remember it being hard as fuck and I'm afraid of giving up on it again
Would a treadmill be a safer bet? Pretty sure it doesn't work the same way though

Anyone else feel this weird kind of feeling when going from fat to fit/thin? Like basically, "goodbye fat user", now theirs a new guy in the mirror, and people react differently to him, and he's meant to be different probably?

It's like a massive huge transition that happens relatively quickly if you're losing weight relatively quickly, where you become a different person so fast.

All made the more difficult because theirs nobody to talk about it with who can share the experience because 99% of people will never go from fat to fit/thin, I don't personally know any in my life apart from you guys.

forgot to add: the elliptical used to work really well
t-thanks

Is this a tranny copypasta?

nah dude its weird. you be a fat guy for so long and now youre not, its weird to comprehend fully

I lost 9 lbs in 8 days from regular dieting which someone said was water weight, then last night I decided to do a 24 hour water fast, woke up and it said I lost 5 lbs. More water weight, correct? And since I fasted it will probably return a bit?

I think for most people treadmills are harder than ellipticals

yeah dude unless youre 400lbs or whatever your body has an average amount of calories it uses and itll be well beneath equalling 5lbs, thats mostly water, but also some other things

treadmill will murder your knees. The easiest and very efficient cardio machine is the exercise bike. I can't recommend it more, it was my primary cardio exercise and I've lost 66 kg so far(4 kg to go until goal weight). If it's hard on your ass just use a cushion

No.

What routine did you use on your bike? I have a shitty one in my room that I haven't used in a while. I used to pedal slowly for an hour and I'd cover about 21-22 kilometers.

People dont treat you different, and you dont feel different?

I'm still fat lol

lol hang in there bro. itll work. weights 3x a week and CICO everyday and youll get where you want to be

I look 10 years younger and I can't help checking myself out no homo. It is weird, every day I saw the same face then out of nowhere I look like a new person.

yes dude the face changes and you revert back to pre-fat user and the body looks awesome and fit and its fucking weird cause my memory of me and everyone elses memory of me is fat user.

its not the biggest problem and im not hung up on it, but its unusual, and i just wanted to see if anyone else had any thoughts on it to make it easier to rationalise the huge changes

High Intensity Interval Training every couple of days(15 seconds of cycling at an easy pace, then 30 seconds of the most intense cycling you can muster, repeat this for ten minutes) and on other days I tried to keep a pace that would make me winded but still able to pedal further for 3 sets of 20 minutes with a minute of rest between them. The HIIT part of the routine is hard so if it's too much for you just try to do what I did on other days

forgot to mention that as you get more used to cycling try to increase the resistance and pedaling speed so you always feel like you're pushing yourself

Absolutely. I just figure fat me is dead and no longer exists. Onwards and upwards.

no you aren't retard

Attached: 1555145649752.gif (354x163, 2.78M)

One large is more than two mediums retard

Not here. One large has eight slices, one medium has six, and one small has four.

It's my birthday today and I'm going to get drunk and eat cake. I don't give a fuck.

yes. appreciate the insight your own gluttony and subsequent responsibility has given you into the world & especially other people. i went from 25 bmi to 19 with shittons more muscle tone and the way people around me have changed their treatment of me has been wild. on my worst days i just want to shut the world out and say fuck everybody for being mean to fat me or only appreciating Yas Forumster me, but i have to take a step out of my own psyche and realise that we are all animals, making value judgements based on what is obvious to us.
just remember wagmi

Yeah I was the guy, you'll have to give it a couple of weeks to figure out your true rate of weight loss. Usually after I eat a salty meal like a curry or chinese I'll notice about 2lbs appear overnight. The important thing is the overall trend, I weigh myself every day and you have to ignore the single numbers where you've gained a pound or lost 4, neither let them demotivate you or give you false hope. I've even been halfway through a week long water fast and had a 2 pounds appear for reasons beyond my understanding. Even though people can logically understand that it can still hurt their motivation which is why weekly weighing is recommended by a lot of people, I just do it because enjoy looking at my stats

Down 80 pounds so far and finally under 25 BMI for the first time in a decade, only 20 more pounds to my goal weight bros

I get compliments, but I still see the fatty mcfatterson in the mirror, I wonder if he'll ever go away

Figure i'll ask here before making a dedicated thread.

Im fat, but not horribly fat yet, been maintaining weight fairly good for the last 5~ years.
why? well my body is fairly fucked, but in more recent years I found out the ways my body is fucked so I can avoid them. ill just list

my feet hurt/will hurt
my knees will hurt
my back will hurt
I cant use grip strength

that said, I walk about 30m-1 hour a day depending on how much I feel like moving, It use to be a lot more but my body will tell me a hard no, stop that shit either though my back or feet before I got much past 20 minutes at a time (use to be an on off near 2-3 hours)

So I had ideas for exercise, but the short bursts I could do it don't justify going out or risking large sums of money on shit I may not be able to use. however a friend moved somewhere and I was able to get some equipment from him, partially as a do what you want with it, and mostly as a we have a big shit garbage day coming up soon.
he kept some of the smaller things, but I got a weight bench and a punching bag, I want to say 75-100lb

because I didn't have to risk money, i'm using the weight bench at the moment, the punching bag requires me to get some gloves along with a bit of additional setup.

right now, i'm doing sets of 30 reps of I think 35-40lbs whenever I feel like moving and that my arms don't feel tired to get muscles to get use to moving again, i'm also doing some squats, mostly to get those use to it too with the same bar, these have posed some problems, but nothing I wasn't expecting, I want to say a little bit of tendon pain, maybe a muscle I don't normally use, being a bit more careful with these then I am with reps of 30, as im up to around 270 reps today and will likely be oner 400 before I sleep.

i'm wondering if anyone knows good aerobic workouts to do on a punching bag, or other workouts that use what I currently have access to that could build bigger muscle groups to help with fat.

are you factoring in muscle gain? i'm assuming you are doing workouts, you should instead of focusing on weight focus on clothing sizes after the initial drop off.

>down 44lbs in the last month
Feels good

I'm gonna fast every other day I'm fucking sick of being fat

Fucking HOW

Imagine being this dumb

Went on keto and lost 45lbs then gained it all back cause I needed a break from keto

How much do you weigh? Being in pain after walking for 20 minutes sounds like you're morbidly obese or have some serious issues going on, or you're 120 years old. Try losing some weight through dieting first to see if the reduced load on your joints helps, you aren't going to make a ton of progress at 20 minutes a day

Fasting and starting out at 43 BMI

Based. I lost nearly 25 lbs at 25-27 bmi when fasting

Post body now and every month henceforth

270-280 and 6' 1", it fluxuates that range.
my feet have hurt since I was 3 to the point I was screaming about it, but parents thought I was lazy or lying, maybe exaggerating. much of my problems stem from shit like this, "im not bleeding, its not bruised, its not broken, its not hurt" and told me not to tell the doctor. moment I turned 18 and its not their legal responsibility, well I should go and tell the doctor that.

I got 2 options to think.
1) money was tight and insurance was shit so if they did tests that went nowhere, insurance would not cover it sticking my parents with a massive fuck off bill. they believed nothing was wrong and they honestly did.
2) my parents were just shitty people who wanted no part in a potentially permanent problem.

my feet, and as a bi product possibly knees have hurt since I was 3
my back hurt when I was 7-9 and was told by doctor, stop doing what makes it hurt (rollerblading at the time)
my hands started I want to say when I was 16, but the first time it stuck out as a massive problem was 18-19

I didn't really become overweight till after I was 17 though as gym was no longer a requirement in school and that was really my only exercise, what with pain making physical activity unappealing but not enough pain to send red flags at the time.

it wasn't till about 7~ years ago and I got a treadmill, I wanted to try and train myself up to run a mile, something I was never able to do in school because I avoided physical activity, that a quarter mile jog had me laying on the floor for a good 15-20 minutes unable to stand due to back pain that massive red flags were raised, but the prospect of going to doctors only be be told to fuck off and stop doing what makes it hurt, here's a 10k+ bill... was completely out of the question.

oh, and its about 20 minutes at a time for walking, +-5 minutes, I would say about 1 hour a day walking on average.

The fuck? Not all of us live in burgerland with mammoth pizzas. That's how they're sold here.

depends on how big the difference between medium and large is, large typically is about the size of 2 mediums

James is dead.

Honestly, I'm not even buying all this shit and eating it because I like it. I mean, I like it. The first bite. Second, third. But by the time I'm finished, I hate whatever crap I was eating. I keep eating it just because it's there, because I have it. My roommate can buy a pack of chips, eat a half, keep another half for some other day. I'll buy 3 packs of chips and eat them right here. It's some kind of automation. I'M some kind of automaton. Wouldn't call it an addiction, though, because it works on any kind of food. I could cook myself 2-3 portions of nice veggie salad, eat one plate, come back for remaining portions even though I'm really not hungry for any more. Only thing I won't eat so much is fucking rice or buckwheat, because they are hard to chew.
How do I stop this, anons?

That's nuts.

Hey there /fat/ back again with my weekly updates.
The whole last week i ate like shit and want 2600 calories over my weekly goal, which should basically hold any progress for that week..

On a positive note tho, i finally made it down to 98.2, which is the lowest ive ever been in 4 years! Still not confident enough to post body, tho.

I also think about becoming a namefag here, but whenever i think about it more, i decide that it's probably not a great idea.

We're all gonna make it, friends!

yeah people look at me differently and interact with me differently, its still something to get used to, i lost over 100lbs in 8 months. the whole reason i lost all the weight was because i got dumped so im still working through that mental mess, i dont really believe compliments from women saying i look good cause im half stuck in that fat mentality. its just something we gotta work on my man, we put in the hard work to change ourselves physically but the mental aspect is most difficult. good luck friend, we gonna make it.

happy birthday buddy, its ok to eat shitty stuff and get drunk every now and then! just dont overdo it!

3.14xR^2
if a pizza is 5 inches radius, then a 7 inch pizza is litteraly twice the size, here ill make a quick chart starting at 3 inches as I have had pizzas that small

3 = 4
4 = 6
5 = 7
6 = 8
7 = 10
8 = 12

these are rough numbers, and there is a little leeway like 6 and 8, where its not quite double, but 9 is well the fuck over double.

I'm never eating food again.

I just broke my aunt's elliptical bike. I feel like shit right now and I need to look out someone to repair it but because of corona everything is closed in my city.

based retard

It seems that incorporating creatine and protein powder into my diet was a good choice. My lifts are climbing despite the calorie deficit. Right now , it's 10:30 PM where I live and I've only consumed 1280 kcal today (TDEE: 2300 kcal) and my energy levels are good, despite having worked out for an hour.
