Home Gym Master Race

It doesn't look like gyms are gonna open again anytime soon, so I'm deciding to join the master race. Discuss any home gym supplies.

I'm looking to buy a power rack, bench, olympic bar, and weights. I'm from Toronto Canada, does anyone know a good cheap product and where I can still get it from? Most of the ones I've seen online seem overpriced. I'm looking at the rogue yoke cross member for my rack.

why would you want a "cheap" product in this case ? you're risking getting a bad injury with cheap racks. stick with the top names.

>Canadian bacon is a USA invention.

lol good fucking luck mate

I mean cheap for the bar and the weights. One 45 plate isn't much different from another.

Titan fitness or rep.fitness. i have equipment from both

Thanks, most of Titan is out of stock, but rep fitness looks good

I'm literally going to have to learn carpentry do get a squat rack at this point, nothing is available at a decent price or for weeks ether way in Florida. I'm praying for war with China

Looks kinda like that guro gif desu

Why not welding?

Canadian market for home gym equipment is fucked right now, I've been ripping people off charging twice what my old equipment is worth. Normally Bells of Steel or the crossbox shit from the treadmill factory are the recommended "quality" Canadian brands but I doubt you can get it during the pandemic

Rep is great. They allowed pre-orders so now I have my rack and weights arriving in 2-4 weeks.
I already got my bench so I can use my Ironmasters for everything until then.

Dumbbell only masterrace checking in, my lats look terrible, going to try some straight arm rows tomorrow

those are expensive dumbbells

>those gay posters
kek

Don't cheap out on the bar.

Not that user but I got a Rogue Ohio Power Bar Stainless Steel even with extra to have Stainless Steel sleeves, too. This fucking beauty is amazing and I look forward to lifting with it when my rack and weights get here in two or four weeks.

I took that advice about not cheaping out on the bar and I'm glad.

What you think is Canadian bacon isn't, Canadian bacon is called peameal bacon and it's keen.

get a 7 foot olympic bar, not a 6 foot

if you want a cheap bench, get the Gold's Gym xrs 20. It holds 600 pounds, has a leg extension/curler that works okay (holds 300 pounds) and also a preacher curler if that's your thing. It also has 3 incline positions. Don't get it if you are shorter than 5'6 though, it's on the higher side

the squat rack that comes with the xrs 20 holds 600 pounds. It's, well, cheap. The safeties aren't great and the rack handles are small, but I have a spotter so I don't have to worry

lol fuck off dyel shill. rogue is trash

>tfw no space for home gym
God i hate this chink annex of a city

Buy whatever weights/bars/racks you can.
>180/100/200 with shitty 1” bar and plates

The Ohio Power Bar is the only Rogue equipment I have, and it's fucking amazing. Everything else from Rogue... eh. I dunno.

Not user but I just finished building a dumbbell+plate rack and flat bench, all from wood, b/c it's easy and what I had on hand.
Now that my gym is at home I feel like I could easily work out every day: Any reason I shouldn't be? . I've converted over to dumbbells only (adjustable) and so all my lifts are way down b/c dumbbells + new movement patterns.
Can't do DL (no bar) and squats are lightweight... I'm just not getting the hardcore fatigue I used to with this setup.

SLDL/RDL with dumbbells?

everything is sold out everywhere
chinese blood will flow through the rivers

This.
Don't cheap out on the bars, anons.

Does anyone have much experience with sandbags? I'm thinking about picking up one of the Rogue strongman sandbags, but I'm not sure what weight I should get.
I diddly ~500lbs.

Attached: strongman-sandbags-h1_3.jpg (844x532, 66.43K)

WTF can I buy it? No one is in stock!

I live in Australia vic, I just need power cage that’s no more than $500 dollarrooos any recommendations everything I’ve found so far are sold out or a $1000 dollarrooos

Anything that is cheap and halfway decent is gone, mate.

That's a good idea, but I just don't have the plates to support. I was SLDL ~135-185 3x5... I've only plates up to 50 lbs total. I'm just glad I bought the plates and handles I have before the viral apocalypse kicked off.

Love your dedication, ingenuity and skill friend but for the love of fuck rotate your pictures before you post.

50 per side --> 100lbs total. Better than completely skipping it I suppose...

Since the outbreak started I have been working out daily, my lifts have gone up and my cardio is through the fucking roof.

Did you have to drop your lift totals and go to higher reps, or make switch from barbell to dumbbells?

gentlemen, you can build a very sturdy cage out of 2x8 lumber (if you have some carpentry skills) for around $200
use 2-3 bolted together for the supporting pillars. also make sure the side you don't plan to rack is sufficiently weighted so it doesn't fucking fall over
downside: it is hard to make the height adjustable without sacrificing structural integrity or safety. plan to make it so you can rack the bar at shoulder height. see attached drawing
t. been using one for 5 years and have not visited snap city

Attached: 1.jpg (1118x846, 82.86K)

please post a picture of your rack. im very intrigued.

The term is also an American invention, no one in Canada calls it that

This has unironically been my gym since the quarantine started. Garden/Farm work gets you strong as shit. Ripping up small nuisance trees often takes the same force as a 300-400lb deadlift. Raking through vines and clearing beds will crush your lats HARD. Walking around with 50lb bags of dirt in each hand builds grip strength like no tomorrow.
True, if you're a hardcore bodybuilder or something you cant get the same isolation dumbbells and machines would offer. Other than that though, you can build serious, functional strength and a solid ottermode physique.

If you want to go to Niagara there is a fat bitch here that would love to be benchpressed. I'm 160lbs for record. Get me to 120 and you can do anything you want to me

I WISH I B OUGHT WEIGHTS

Attached: 1585774688671.png (1079x717, 762.82K)

Ordered a Texas Power Bar from their site. Got a confirmation email, shit still hasn’t shipped.

Ordered some weights from another shady ass website, no confirmation email.

At this point, I guess I’ll just wait 3 months until Rogue or EliteFTS has shit back in stock and pay an absurd amount for everything

Got everything from just under 700$ from a business going under. Just gotta build a platform for deadlifting and grab some bigger dumbbells. Rack is alright, has spot for dips and i got the cable attachment for free. Spacing for the racks are a little meh but at least i can lift heavy solo and safely.

Not true my friend. I built mine out of wood. It's a pretty shoddy design but I've loaded as much as 250 on there and it had no issues

Pic related Is mine. I'm going to have to upgrade to a metal cage now that I'm getting stronger, but I've heard of people putting around 300 on it without issues.

Been thinking about upgrading to one of those. What aside from the tensile strength and whippiness makes them any better than my cheap cap bar

Second for the Rogue Ohio Power Bar being great. Their cast iron plates are nice too. In fact, everyone I've heard talk about rogue equipment has had good things to say.

retard. rogue is pretty much the gold standard for home gym equipment in the US. every other company is shitty Chinese steel and a rip-off of rogue products anyway (eg Titan and Rep and fringe etc)

Sandbags are a great tool. You should get two- one that is “medium” and a heavy one (should be at least your bodyweight or more). I diddy 500 at 220bw and I got a 180lb sandbag a few weeks ago from Strength Shop- it’s good for lifting to shoulder but too light for carries. Gonna buy a 265lb bag next payday and destroy myself

damn that looks decent. I'm actually excited about learning build something I need at 350 l support minimum Im going to follow the Buff Dudes video because I'm a fucking retard when it comes to building anything

everything is out of stock right now probably because everyone has been raiding shit like this all month but keep an eye on this one OP

amazon.com/gp/product/B01N4I8FOY/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?tag=slicinc-20&ascsubtag=032cf2f477b711eaac9d2ecf0bfff0bf0SEM&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

this shit regularly goes for 200 bucks and it's primo shit for the price. throw another 100-150 at a good bench, and then snag any weight and bar set you can get. work your way up and then upgrade the bar when you bend or beat the shit out of the beginner one. there. you've got a gym for less than 1k. just might need to be patient.

Thanks user. I'll grab the 200lber to start out with then.

Ideas for cheap homemade weights? Need about 20 more pounds for my barbell. What should I use? Paint cans maybe

knives

I wish I had made mine that way, it looks much more aesthetic than mine does. But just keep in mind that wood is fucking heavy. Heavier and stronger than some high gauge steel.

Reverse image search pic related for the article I found mine on

Mirin.

it's rotated the right way on my phone ::(

Any thoughts on which rack to get? Not sure what really justifies the price hike from the PR-1100 to the PR-4000 aside from weight capacity.

notice me senpai

I had a $300 competition Olympic bar that got bent to shit after a year of use and I eventually had to throw it away.
I still have a 5 foot standard barbell I bought for $25 at a Sports Authority in 2010 that is in pristine shape though it has a 200 lbs max capacity and I regularly load it with 300+ lbs and use it every week.

>stronger than some high gauge steel
no, no just stop with this lie. Mechanical engineer, checked

>just built whole power cage in my barn
>adjustable safeties, pull up bar, shits tight
>local store had a p good bar in stock too
>everywhere is sold out of plates except for 5 and 2.5lbs
>"check back next week"
>"we sold 11,000lbs of weight over that last 5 days"
>"fuck u we're closed"
>realize i poured 2 tons of concrete and put up some fancy sticks so i could do bodyweight exercises and OHP an empty bar
pullups got better tho
