I grew out of social anxiety by talking to people as if I didn't care what they thought of me. I just threw myself out there and embraced the uncomfortable feeling until it went away entirely. It's like a muscle though - it takes a lot of time and effort for one to see results. You just have to get used to feeling retarded and accept and run with it until it changes your personality by force.
It also helps to read the typical autistic books about self-help and shit (e.g. Dale Carnegie's book). Also, see a therapist if you can.
