I squat in sleeves. I feel fine once I'm warmed up. I mainly notice it the day after.
I stretch my quads and hip flexors after I lift.

That's a rather simplistic view of things and I would argue incorrect.With 5x5 you're doing more sets than 3x5, so you have to drop the weight, there's no choice. Even with fatigue percents generally you'll be doing 5+ sets, not to mention the fact that you'll be doing that every training session compared to TM where you only have one volume day, whereas in RTS style training everyday is a volume day

Roll and stretch your ITB, so much knee pain can be caused by those little cunts.

I'd disagree - you start with a lower intensity % with Rippetoe. This is advanced programming we're at. Simply build up the volume for 4-5 week then taper down. TM has only one vol day, but check ADV programming.

Barbell and presses, welded up squat rack. Or more basic, lift anything that's heavy af over head.

if you can't directly press, then rowing/pulling movements will help a lot more than you think. if you can find somewhere to do dips then that's acceptable as well.

for future reference, "when in doubt, more volume" is the easiest thing to remember in order to improve your bench press.

If the pain is at the top of the knee it might be quad tendonitis, as already suggested, sleeves to keep the knees warm, proper warm up with high volume before lifting and try focusing on the eccentric part of a lift during warm ups - squat down slow, pause, explode up, a 5-1-1 tempo perhaps.

I thought it was my patella mistracking as well at first but read up on quadriceps tendonitis as well if the pain is at the top of the knee. I also posted another reply to you
