I wish that was true but it just isn't. Even if your girlfriend is rational and financially responsible (which is very rare), the both of you still have the exact same needs as before. You will both spend the same money on everything except household utilities, rent, etc. And you can get the same benefit by finding a roommate or just living with your parents. Women don't help anything. They can be fun, but there is nothing practical about a long-term relationship. Been there, done that.

Not really. People get tired of each other. When you live with someone for years, you get tired of them. It's a few months usually, or a few years if you're a really good match. After than, the only reason you stay together is if you both force yourself and pretend to be happy and joyous. But you're not. Now that there isn't an economic reason for the family union or economic incentive to have children, fewer and fewer people do that. People become less and less connected. There is less and less reason to interact with anyone for any length of time at all. And wether that's bad or good, nothing is going to change that. You see it happening across the world, on every continent. 100 years ago a European families had 10 children. Now it's uncommon for any developed country's family, wither European, Asian or American to have more than 2 children. Which is already below the replacement rate.
