Can you build muscle/biceps with low weight curls but if you do them often?
I only own 15kg dumbbells.

15kg is fine for curls, man.
Only if you're dyel. I usually train with 20/22. I surpassed 15 a fucking year ago.
>I only own 15kg dumbbells.
>never going to make it
seriously: a pair of 15kg dumbbells will get you a long way in these shitty times. you're not going to explode, but whatever it takes, right?
buy spin lock dumbbells like in your picture instead of wasting time on any fixed-weight nonsense
you'll probably end up improving your curling endurance but your 1RM will stay pretty much the same
15 kg is enough for curls if you use controlled form and don't swing it around like some other anons itt
people telling you that "x weight" is not working for curls are mostly egolifters that alter their body leverages in a way where they can move more weight yet do less actual work with their muscles. with 15 kg you can easily build 18" arms if you do controlled movements and hard rep schemes
t. 19" arms lean and I don't use more than 20 kg, usually 15 kg for my burn sets
>15 kg is enough for curls if you use controlled form and don't swing it around like some other anons itt
I'm an autist about correct form, don't worry lol.
All I want is to maintain my muscles until this fucking epidemic is over. I'm aware I'm too underequipped to become Arnie. Also I have spin-lock dumbbells, but they're fucking huge because they're not metal. Too poor for metal desu.
Nice picture ty. We're all going to make it. Don't listen to the fucking defeatists with their fucking lookism garbage. Literally fucking ugly criminals from prison get girls, not because they're attractive but because they have confidence and are muscular. Muscularity improves confidence, it improves fucking everything. Like I said we're gonna make it.
>I'm an autist about correct form
good. look up German volume training and other bodybuilding shenanigans. Also look up ways to make the curls as hard as you can and take away as much body english as possible
also, look up some of the technique that armwrestlers use, including forearms exercises. Isometrics etc. will make your arms blow up if employed properly
>and take away as much body english as possible
??
How much weight you use is irrelevant, its all about volume and after about 2 years of consistent training you hit natty peak and then its just placebo from losing and gaining back lost weight in an never ending cycle.
Or you could just pin i guess
>and after about 2 years of consistent training you hit natty peak
Kys. If you had a twin with exactly the same genes and he lifted 3 years and you 2 exactly the same amount he would still mock you.
Hell I still see improvements in my body even if my numbers barely change.
The myth of after 2/3 you hit peak is defeatist garbage. Yes changed are minimal after 1-2 years but THEY ARE THERE.
bruh in order to make hypertrophy gains you're gonna need to exceed at least 70% of your 1 rep max. Any other adaptations will be strictly endurance gainz.
>How much weight you use is irrelevant, its all about volume
lol no even if you curl 10000x1kg you'll never be able to curl 30kg for one rep because you have to add weight to progress in strength
Do endurance gainz change looks?
>Hell I still see improvements in my body even if my numbers barely change.
> then its just placebo from losing and gaining back lost weight in an never ending cycle
I just did some sets of 15, simultaneous, with like 11.5kg. might have been 13.5. Not sure in handle weight. Anyway if you keep em strict you'll get a burn going.
Of course pullups are great but inverted rows with TRX straps are the real MVP for me this quarantine
Ever heard about zero-point technique? It's something a brazilian bodybuilder came up. Basically, you go to failure every set, but you have to separate the concentric failure and the excentric failure.
You do it by doing the movement, stopping for 3 secs on the excentric phase, then continuing. While doing it, you don't do the movement "kicking it", you have to do it like a "circle" (does that make sense?). When you feel you're going to fail, speed it up, use an explosive movement until you fail completely.
body english = swinging, moving around to get yourself under the weight etc.
there's certainly a spot for it in strength sport, but for hypertrophy alone it isn't necessary
1k coput, the range of needed weights are about 5-20 kg for every single human when it comes to curls.
You will never need more than that for curls ever to grow muscle, then ist mroe about perfecting a single move which is more about getting the body used to something not building muscle
No one asked or gives a shit
You never stay in a relaxation point in the movement. So you don't bring the dumbbell completely up or down in the movement. You have to do it so your muscle stays tight the entire set.
Wrong
Yes but you shouldn't listen to the other user. He has got no idea what he's talking about
lucky you. i only have a set of 10lb dumbbells and one 20lb. wish i didn't fall for the gym meme and made a home gym.
that's not how hypertrophy works at all. The threshold you're thinking of is much, much lower. Think 40% 1RM
no
Nice try, coofer. No (you) for you
Well if 15kg is all u got its all u got
There are plenty of bicep exercises that make it harder, the hardest one for me is where u sit on a chair and slow and controlled
Post body, pussy.
>took a year to go from 15 to 20
wow we got a big man over here
post yours, dyel
I never said 20/22 is my max retard. Only that I train with it. I don't even curl that much.
Are you clinically retarded or are you hust pretending? Seriously what is your diagnosis?
>talks shit in a random thread asking for advice
>gets called out for being a dyel by multiple people
>gets immediately buttblasted about it
Fine I'm dyel. Post body. I don't have a problem being ridiculed by people with respectable bodies. But I seriously doubt this is the guy. Someone who made it would not waste time calling other dyels he would be lifting.
Could you both faggots please shut the fuck up already?
Trust me on this. Put your back against the wall while standing, and as you're curling do not allow your elbows to leave the wall. I thought I was strict, but these learned me up.
thats a fucking great picture.
For curls and lateral raises you probably don't need more. How many reps can you rep out with 15 kilo? If you have a backpack you can throw them in there and 1 arm rows with them, weighted push ups, chin ups, dips, and so on
yes
more volume = more hypertrophy
strength =/= hypertrophy
do curls on mon/wed/fri 6 sets each time you train them, stop 1-2 reps short of failure
eat more
C-could I get your a-autograph?
these things always start coming undone when i start going JAYZ HAM AS A MOTHAFUCKA IN THAT BITCH
its kind of annoying
15kg enough if you keep increasing reps
You know in a way I'm grateful that fucking virus forces me to orient myself towards home gym.
You can accomplish far more reps from the comfort of your home. You can literally play a fucking video game and stop every 5 minutes to do a rep. I will still probably attend the gym just to get mired but doing a shit ton of stuff at home is also fucking great.
set* not rep
youre amazing user you're like literally better than everyone else on earth please tell us how you got so gosh darn strong
ok
>20/22
LMAO THIS DUDE CURLS 0.909 kg!
Haha faggot
this is true
you can do 8 hour arm workouts now
Post biceps
any anons that read this and have light dumbbells try zottman curls instead of normal ones with slow, controlled form and see if you can still hold the dumbell without discomfort at the 12th rep
You can literally play a fucking video game and stop every 5 minutes to do a set.
This is unironically what I've been doing for the last week with my adjustable dumbbells and it's fucking brilliant. It's only about every half hour or every hour, but I get between ten to twenty sets each day.
Now the weights I started with this week are feeling easy as hell, going to bump up five pounds next week if I can really improve fast.
As the reps get easier to do, I focus on moving faster and more explosively with each rep.
Thanks for the infograph
Please bro tell me your secret you're so cool and awesome
what are the best dumb bells to buy?
Man, I also only have 15kg smartbells at home which I use for cringe stuff like getting a pump before I meet a girl or for legit stuff like doing light workouts for things I've strained.
But right now they are my only salvation for the back, since I have no pu bar nor anything that can be used like that.
I'm glad I bought them.
OPs type are nice because the screws make weight changing easy. Before I had a pair of those, I used my dad's which had a fucking bolt and nut mechanism and it was a pain to use.
Thanks for the pic, user
I wish a had a fucking benchpress at home. I've not been to the gym in over a month due to all the gyms being closed. The outside gym is too cold, I live in Åland Islands. Wat do? I have 15kg bells at home also.
Try pre exhaustion (working the muscle out before your set) if you feel your weight is 2 light
pushups are your friend.
Pseudo planche pushups - eventually Planche pushups
dips
handstand pushups (upper chest)
single arm pushups (feet elevated)
>The outside gym is too cold
