0 - 1 = a day or few days
1-5 = a week or few weeks
5-10 = a month or few months
10-15 = a year or few years
15+ = many years

This is if you're at a medium-heavy weight

If you're at an extremely low bodyweight you could work upto sets of 20 in a few months, but thats with very little weight on you, like being a really skinny guy.

about 1 sec

a week or two or three? Should be doable within one month, and from there its just about keeping at it. I would recommend doing negatives if youre starting learning it now. Only negatives, maybe some slight jump pullups, but no resistance band pullups.. Good luck

>15+ = many years
no bro, i am 85 kg and can bang 15 pull ups easy
8 with 20 kg added

Bro? Serious?

I weigh 200 pounds and went from 2-3 total to multiple sets of 20 in a year. I started with 10 sets of 1-2, so I'd do maybe 5 sets of 2 and then 5 sets of one. I'd do that until I could do all 10 sets of 2 and then start with 3 next time.

I built up to 10x10, then worked towards 5 sets of 20 to save time.

Then I got bored and fell off the wagon, but I'm sure I can still do at least 20.

How old where you at the time? How many days a week did you train them? What other stuff did you train?

do grease the groove with chinups

you'll do your first pull up in like 3 days

skinnyfat here. i'm doing assisted pullups until i build up strength to do real ones and can currently do 5x5, pic related. how retarded is this v.s. doing 5 sets of 1-2 real pullups?

Just do negatives

it's good
do inverted rows too

Do negatives really help with pull-ups? I'm floundering on them despite making good progress on every other lift I'm doing. I can only manage them on the assisted machine.

They definitely do. Went from zero pull-ups to one entirely with negatives.

What a stupid event

Yea, what the fuck is that.
Shouldn't take more than six months learning to do 15+ for a male. Maybe even four months.

Would definitely just do very slow negatives. Sometimes people on this board forget that you develop the most strength during the excentric phase of a lift/pull (ie negatives will increase your strength more than assisted/inverted rows etc.).

I'll have to find something I can practice on around the house. Maybe when the gym reopens I'll be able to break through

Skinnyfat here as well. Everyone says you can progress quickly to your first one but their baseline is different. I haven't had any physical exercise for 10y and my muscles, tendons, forearms and grip are extremely weak. I think I may be able to complete 1 at the end of the summer

Not downing anyone but I'm genuinely amazed people can't do these. In elementary school I set a school record with 16 pull ups. Middle school I could do bw x 30+

I'm 26 now @ 140lbs and do 3x8 with 90 lbs on the belt

Sad! Just do 50 pull ups every other day in as few sets as possible! If you have to do a bunch of singles or doubles that's okay. In two months you will be able to do 15 pullups in one set. In conclusion, I want to explode inside the op bih and knock her up!

>I'm genuinely amazed people can't do these
>140lbs
Maybe if you weren't a stick you wouldn't be amazed.

cute but pathetic strength

Late 20's. I did pull ups most days. I was travelling between on and offshore oil rigs so I often had no gym. I did hand stand pushups, regular pushups, front and back levers, dips.
There was no shortage of pipes to hang from.

Legs were harder, did stuff like climbing stairs with 2 50 pound bags of bentonite.

WENT FROM 6 TO 20 IN MOTNH

You've been infected by the COCKBIG-19

How are there people that can't do one? Even when I was out of shape and just started my fitness journey, I could do four or five fully extended pull ups

Imagine you're just trying to lift and these fucking retards are filming their retarded instagram content with you in the background. My rage levels would be off the charts.

Yes what a grave insult

fuck off normie, i go to the gym to lift not to be an extra in someone's online attention whoring.

What’s wrong with resistance band pull-ups? Genuinely asking.

Also why negatives?

I don't trust infected posters.

Not that guy, but negatives are how I learned how to do them. I don't think there's anything wrong with resistance bands, but I'm a huge pussy and didn't want to get slapped by them and it felt like they were giving too much help. I used a shorter pull up bar so I could jump up to the top position and slowly lower myself down.

image running up and quickly licking her armpits and running away haha wouldn't that be crazy haha

I also don't understand, I've always been able to do pull ups

How mant sets/reps of negatives should I do? And how many negatives should I aim for before trying real pullups?

>10-15 = a year or few years
I think you mean a few weeks

Yeah with shit form

I started doing this like 2 week ago and can now do 4 without help, keep it up user

HEY IM UNINFECTED NOW
Fuck off all od you coofers

you started doing them in elementary school dipshit
the majority of the men here have never done a sport in their lives and have never touched a single barbell until their early 20s

This. I was sedentary from 20 to 30yo. Building a strength base others take for granted is a several year project

Top lel

Then shut it and get to work. Enjoy your declining T levels whilst your at it.

Took me 3 weeks.
I was skinny smoker dyel, 6"3 went from 165 to 220lb clean eating and lifting. Never done a pull up, watched scooby, did negatives twice day, had to start out with the extra 55lb of 'me'

>tfw can't lift the bar
>the can't lift the self

life is suffering

>140lbs

So you are a male the size of a femake thick latina and you are amazed at how easy pull ups are for you? Retard

ARE YOU ME?!

I'm following scooby's program too fellow coofer. Did you have any inner elbow discomfort?

negatives are your friend it's like doing the exercise but without the hard part

METT-TC

Now that you mention it, I did. But it passed and I've forgotten about it. Pretty sure it was just weak forearm, just googling, probably the brachioradialis and how it attaches. i find pull-ups put a lot of load there. I don't think the stuff i was doing to get big, basic bodybuilding, loaded that muscle, it's more grip str which is the underside of the forearm.

post tits

She has a penis, doesn't she?

yeah except someone might see you doing negatives

FPBP this but unironically.

>15+ = many years

I went from 3 to 26 chin (24 pull) in three weeks. 18 slow with perfect form.

I was used to doing a LOT of push ups, tho. Dunno if there's crossover (don't see why there would be).
