I have a good jawline so I don't need to use a beard to cope

no idea where to start from though, should I just look up references and try to copy them? Most beards seem to be fuller then mine I feel like I wouldn't have much to work with apart from the obvious neck beard shave

use minox mate, also rub your face in a circular motion every night before you sleep cuz it increases circulation and blood flow so could help the growth (last part is just a theory not a legit thing)

I wouldn't advise to trim at this point. hairs grow at different length. Give it a few more weeks to fill out before you decide to trim any.

If you have a patch in the middle of each cheek where the hair looks really thin, does it fill in eventually?
I've been growing since mid-January and it looks like it's really slowly filling in, but at a ridiculously slower growth rate than literally everywhere else on my face.

I'd say give your face at least 4 weeks untouched to grow - if there's absolutely nothing at that point, then there's probably nothing growing there yet

I've given it two and a half months at this point, user.
To be honest, it looks like it is slowly filling in, but in a 'will probably look full by Christmas' kind of way. Which doesn't inspire confidence that it'll actually reach that point.
It's annoying, because the rest of my beard grows quickly, but the only style I want to grow is friendly muttonchops.

My advice, assuming you're not having to go to work/school until the all-clear:

Once we get the all-clear, you'll likely have a few months of growth in. Which makes a fuckload of difference.
It'll be a much better time to decide what you can and cannot have, in terms of beard aesthetics.

It just takes time. Be sure to remove the neckbeard. The line should be following your jaw. Can't really explain properly but youtube it. Neckbeard looks horrible.
