I haven't sparred in so long

Is judo fun to train? It looks fun

>punching bag got delivered today
Feels good boys

It really is. When you git gud you can really start to play.

what are you guys doing to stay in shape until gym re-opens?

Tactical barbell conditioning. Gotta do a little something every day.

throwing people arround like ragdoll is pretty fun

i have an old punching bags with no straps
i do slams, throws and snatches with it

ask me how i know you don't know how to box boy

have a bjjgf and mats at home so we just keep on training

Lot more calisthenics, jogging and sprints at a park, heavy bag, lost weight, went to a park today and sparred with a buddy from the gym. Started stretching more now because I wanna be able to do some Eddie Bravo shit.

I miss my gym so much bros. I just want to spar again and have a laugh.

Very fun to train.
Sun salutation, jump rope, ring work, handstand work. I would ride my bicycle to work but it has a flat tire and nowhere to buy the tools to repair it.

Not being able to train is really starting to take its toll guys. I'm still doing HIIT at home, running regularly and stuff, but not being able to roll is making me depressed and sad. I'm losing focus and direction in my everyday lift without having my regular BJJ-goals.

Insanity, unironally.

I'm pretty jealous 2bh

How likely are concussions and head injuries in judo? It seems fun as hell, but being continually slammed seems awful for your head

Get some sort of mat and do bjj drills

>Insanity, unironally.
Based

Lol
I was a silverglove back in the 2010’s

It's not as bad as being punched in the head really.

very rare actually

broken ribs are more likely - especially in the beginning if you don't learn breakfalls properly. My club had a saying - "We don't tewach breakfalls, we teach you not to fall" - didn't help me much after getting fucking smashed 'into' the ground - out of comission for 8 weeks.

Even still though, I'll never stop. I want that black belt and I'm definitely getting better.

dude yeah. I've been doing various grappling sports (judo/bjj/sambo) for 4-5 years and its kind of lol how easy you can toy with new guys.

yeah. judo has to be the most technical combat sport. huge skill range.

This thread is making me want to do judo again bros. I've been in it for about 15 years now and it really seems like a waste tk throw that all away.
It's hard to stay in it cause the judo club where I study is on the other side of town...
Think I'm gonna give it a try again when this is all over. Thanks guys

Hep me guys, and please, don't make the question a shit-throwing contest:

I have done Sanshou for 3 years, and Sanshou incorporates aspects of kickboxing plus some judo throws. So I got the standup game and can throw, but my ground is really shit. Should I go for bjj, work only on the ground, or something like wrestling, which work both throws and ground work? Any other sugestions welcome.

What are your goals?

Girlfriend mating press 3x a day

Thanks for the replies. The problem is that the judo places in my city are either geared towards kids or interfere with my BJJ hours. Shit sucks, I really want to learn throws

Judo only works if your opponent cooperates. It's a stupid discipline. Watched a judo "master" get schooled by a mediocre bjj/boxer who just kept repeatedly slapping or elbowing him in the face every time he tried to grab him.
>Uhhh WHO SAID FACE STRIKES ARE ALLOWED??
Absolutely shameful.

Naked gfbj is the best

Judo is shut down and I'm coofing

thinking about starting muay thai sooner or later there's a lot of gyms around here, it looks very cool
pity my cardio is trash

Bought a kettlebell. Pushups, pullups, ab roller.

Reminder that you must be have skill in a striking art that involves kicks. Karate and TKD are good.

Otherwise after a fight you might end up coofing.

funny copypasta

Rare but certainly possible. Every few years someone gets paralyzed from getting thrown on their neck or something(this also happens in things like high school football and wrestling but nobody wants to think about that.) In context high level competitors often train to headpost out of throws to avoid landing on their backs, force vectors really matter. Your knees and shoulders are much more vulnerable.

So about 2 months ago I met this bjj girl at my judo class, we were laughing and smiling a bit more than in a normal randori session. I managed to chat with her a tiny bit and I haven't seen her since, I decided to look her up on Instagram cuz she had a very unique name so I thought it'd be easy to find, found her and turns out she's a serious bjj competitor, she's been doing bjj for around 8 years, not sure if I should slide into the dms or not. On one hand might seem creepy but on the other hand... Bjj gf

Yeah don't do it. If she gets creeped out by the gesture, EVERYONE in your dojo will know about it and it'll become a hostile environment for you, dating someone in your dojo is a bad idea in general
t. Had a good interpersonal relationship with someone at my club and when it went south, everybody got a live update of our drama from her and even though she's gone now, shit's still awkward with other students

Attached: toolate.jpg (396x524, 57.24K)

No see but that's the beauty, she doesn't go to my dojo, she does bjj and was just trying out a judo class for once seemingly, but yes you could be right, I certainly shall be very careful and think hard before taking any action as to how it could affect my training

Wrestling, but Judo second

It is still a risk bro but good luck if it works out. I wouldn't mind getting a MA gf if I could but I am too much of a spazz to do it (23 and have already excepted that I am gonna die alone) .

Dont be a spastic user. Just be a chad and it'll all work out :^)

Training wrestling outside of school isn't much of a thing, although more and more gyms are starting to offer it.

Its funny because my issue is related to self-confidence. Even though I've done martial arts, some of you may claim is a meme (taekwondo), which people say is supposed to build up your confidence.I feel like my confidence never developed and am too afraid to ask a woman out, despite being able to normally interact with them.

Brian? RGC?

Who?

Do you see more wrestlers in no gi or gi? Are there that many wrestlers who even do jiu jitsu?

They go to jiu-jitsu once they can't train wrestling anymore due to age or lack of adult class.

Every time you think negative of yourself do 10 push ups,I mean unless it's something that you're uncomfortable with or would be good to change like being fat or something. O think what people mean by confidence is that you can be confident in a fight against someone else, you have the confidence that you'll win, unless you get sucker punched

What do you guys think about this movie? If you haven't watched you should it's pretty effin good

Attached: Warrior_Poster.jpg (254x392, 17.67K)

Was it though? Or were you lulled into it by the pretentiousness and 1 dimensional aspects of the characters not to mention the cop out "there's going to be a great sequel guise" ending.

Attached: frame elbow KO.webm (1280x720, 2.93M)

This .webm is so cool to teach basic of pummel/dirty boxing and the importance of proper footwork.
>both fighter have over/under one goes backward, other foreward,
>both aim to elbow the shit of eachother.
The one who reach first is the one who's got the same side hand and foot aligned to generate a proper strike with full speed. notice the lateral step white trunks can do since he has proper footing while blue is still stepping forward.

I don't follow UFC but I train Judo - watching this has made me decide to learn Muay Thai. Who is the guy delivering this KO?

"platinum" mike perry, kind of a meme fighter

sweet KO though
