I lost my retail job due to covid19 and because I'm a dependent in the UK (doubt I would even get money anyways if I wasn't) I only have my savings to last me through this crisis, so for 6 months I can only afford to buy 50g of protein a day, parents make me buy my own food as they don't ask for rent

>1) all supermarkets ban people from buying more than 1-3 of essential foods, meat, dairy etc
>2) all online bulk wholesalers of food i.e. lentils, rice, oats etc in the UK have either stopped taking orders or have just closed their site
>3) what little amounts you can still buy online on ebay or other sites aren't any cheaper and can be far more expensive than what you can find in the supermarket

Once I get the virus I'll go back to work because I'll be one of the herd but for now its 50g a day on a good day, I usually have to wait outside of the few supermarkets here for 20 minutes to 1 hour, like people just clear out all of the sources of protein, they take the canned fish, the spam, the chicken, the cereals with oats, the rice, the pasta, the peanut butter etc
the only things left usually are either in demand items/essential items like milk, cheese etc which are restricted
each supermarket usually has extra security basically bouncers which sometimes follow you around because only a few people are allowed in the shop at a time

Go and check again, the limited amount of people allowed inside supermarkets means people aren't able to swarm in and take absolutely everything. Went to my local tesco extra at 6pm last saturday and they had tons of canned tuna, sardines, mackerel and salmon. Only thing they were actually low on was pasta sauce jars, they were well stocked up on everything else.
If you have a few small local shops, go to one and get a 4 pint bottle of milk, then go to the other and get another. Pop out every few days and keep stocking up so you don't run out.

According to WHO the lowest safe daily protein intake is 0.8 g. per kg body weight. That is 58 g. of protein for you. Any lower then that, and you may get in catabolic state. Heavy resistence training could further accelerate the muscle breakdown if there is no protein to repair the microtearing, but some lifting could with focus on preserving strenght and mass would be beneficial in preserving muscle mass since the body will prioritize ceeping it if it's in use. Drop the useless running - thats a waste of food in your case and money that could be used on protein.

No. That is not high. As an example; a slice of bread is ca. 3 g. of protein. If you eat 4 slices of bread per meal, thats 36 g. of protein from bread alone if you eat 3 meals of bread a day. If you drink a glass of milk with every meal that's 15 g. and so on... Everything ads up.

I work in health care and care for a man with a metabolic disease were the amino acid leucine becomes poisonous for him, so his protein inntake is lowered as mutch as safely possible. To low and he becomes cetabolic and laucine is released from the muscle, so that must be avoided to. Ones protein need depends on more factors then body weight alone offcourse, but as someone who work out you have more muscle mass to preserve.
