Odd ways to train thread
I use a giant sword I made to train. It’s improved my balance, power, and stability, unlike anything else.
Does anyone else have uncommon exercises they do?
Odd ways to train thread
I laff'd
Since it's going for a full month I'm going strongman lifter.
I got a heavy ass metal I think tub outside i'm going to start bentrowing and deadlifting and a full concrete heavy ass horse head statue I'm going to try to start farmers carying.
I got a big ass log I am starting to log press too. If I can get a round haybale I'm going to start pushing that around like tire flips
lol anime tier
Is this you?
This but unironically
Incredibly based. I’ve been wanting to get into strongman style lifting myself. I used to carry this stump around everyday and it made me feel stronger than any lifting routine. It was really wide and difficult to grip, annoying at first but after a few months it became easy.
Hello, friend. One odd way I train is by having grappling matches with you at cons and in your backyard ;^)
Fuck my manlet really shines in this pic lmao
very based if real
I miss you king, after the quarantine I will come visit and we can train again.
Yes please. Train hard, as will I. Can't let any of us slip past each other.
that handle is just a block of fucking wood that doesn't even look like it has rounded edges
looks like you put tape around it but that would still be uncomfortable to hold for any real training session
in conclusion, your sword is useless until you fix the handle
>t. griplet
>mom, can i go to the pool today?
>No darling, that creep with the weird oar is outside again
>that fish
I bet you do kung fu faggit, protip I could heem you, I've done one year of boxing and wrestling :^)
Based, kids can fuck off when it's sword time.
LOL NO NIGGER
>7 years of wrestling
>Going on 1st year of BJJ
>A few boxing/kickboxing classes
I know you're quoting that bruce lee quote where it's like "1 year boxer/wrestler could beat a kung fu tai chi wing chung wang wang faggot" you chud
Hey, thanks for reminding me of my giant red Dagorhir greatsword. It's fairly hefty, though not completely unwieldy, and it was my first time making a weapon myself.
I would have had a heavier pommel if I were to make it again and also lighter foam for the majority bulk, but it's still good. It's possible I can still alter the pommel for more balance.
Anyway, thank you!
In addition to weight lifting, I can also practice the blade.
The handle does have rounded edges. Might be hard to see. It’s a little uncomfortable at first but not anymore than weights would be to someone who’s never picked them up. The handle needs to have a rectangular shape, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to keep the sword straight while I swing it.
Wait fuck I'm sorry looking at this post again, do you know who I am lmao
If you do shoot me a message
I actually have made some really good friends and connections because of it. Normies think it’s more impressive than weird, and since I teach martial arts, I have a good follow up conversation. It’s helped me make a lot of new friends since I moved across the country.
>The handle needs to have a rectangular shape, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to keep the sword straight while I swing it.
Incorrect. Edge alignment is indeed much more difficult with a round handle, but definitely not impossible. Many historical weapons use a completely round handle. Though yes, it's not usually ideal, and mostly sabers can get away with it because the shape of the saber helps edge alignment anyway.
TL:DR - You're just a weak faggot for using a bad excuse against a round handle.
You should use a round handle and wrap it in cord (I use rough twine on top of the cord for a very strong grip), and you can use cord glued to the handle on the leading and trailing edge to give it a grip that aids with edge alignment, instead of a completely round handle.
Your excuses are bad, and you should feel bad.
>implying that a slab of wood cut to be as unwieldy as possible should have anything to do with historical accuracy. This would be my last choice weapon to use in any sort of practical application. I own multiple swords and have been training with weapons for years. I made this sword for a purpose.
Fair enough.
And for anyone reading, you're supposed to put the cord for the leading and trailing edge on BEFORE you wrap the handle in cord and/or twine. I realize my words were confusing.
>autistic scrutinization of minute detail
>pseudo intelligence
>that spacing
>futurama reference
Literally never used that website ever.
Tried it tonight and it was fun, the horse head statue was heavier than I expected but it was fun. The only thing I need to worry about is the log press..damn dirt trying to get into my eyes
No idea lad sorry for giving you the wrong impression
I use a block of wood and put it behind my back, then go for a run.
You can train all kinds of muscle with it, depending on how you grip and lift it. Then i rotate those until im done.
(Stole it from rocky IV, normies will think you are retarded)
So wait user do you just swing it around a bit for a certain amount of time? What’s the routine with this thing?
I have a heavy kettle bell that I do a routine with. Figured it’ll tone me up a bit.

I know where you got this from
I'll shoot you and flex over your corpse you mark ass nigga
I haven’t read this yet, mine is based off of the dragonslayer from berserk. A training partner back home had one and when I moved across the country I made my own. Also what manga is that I’m gonna add it to my list.
Shigerui was pretty tits.
Funny how his sword breaks in the episode he gets introduced and is never seen with one again
I have a few different swings that I do, usually 10-20 reps, and 10 sets. There’s not much that can be done with it, but as I get stronger, I’m finding out more and more ways to use it. When I take it to the beach I can do some more wild stuff swinging it around since I don’t have to worry about it getting damaged if it hits the sand. After the quarantine, I’ll start filming it and posting videos.
Just put on some glasses
I teach Kung Fu and I’ll clap your cheeks
>knowing it's a futurama reference
you're a tranny aren't you
>facts you don't like and can't dispute are "pseudo intelligence"
based. looking forward to it gatsu
LMAO thanks for admitting that you are inferior. Also I'll just shoot you first tranny
No worries frend
Post sword. Get your sword out for the boys, faggot. It's sword inspection day.
>Does anyone else have uncommon exercises they do?
I do some exercises by swinging a nunchaku sometimes. It's very interesting. I have a foam nunchaku and had a wooden one. The foamy is good for speed and tricks, but the wooden is great for training. It gets a lot heavy when you're swinging it quickly enough.
The wood shattered when I accidentally hit the wall with it, and it fucked up my wall, also. So I bought one made from metal, but the accidents got pretty scary...
I actually took them off, I was afraid they might get hurt
How did you learn to make such a thing? Is it possible to replicate?
i was right it is the crucifix gun from trigun. fucking based
Watermelon is used as an analogue for density of human skull
Watermelon sitting on wooden slats as risers.
Experience allows me to assess and make calculation of how much force to use and immediately stopped/arrested strike after watermelon cut through without hitting board underneath.
Dont think many can appreciate the speed/force and precision required to do this.
Dont need a sharp blade to cut through a melon.
Just hit it hard/fast enough and kinetic energy will do the work.
Especially on a target below chest level.
that form tho
I love training with nunchucks! I have 2 wooden pairs that I use a lot. I have a torn labrum in my right shoulder and the rotational movements with nunchucks has been super helpful for my rehabilitation.
Mine is actually a replication of the one my friend had back home. I used a 6x12x2 piece of Douglas fir from Home Depot, I bought it as an 8x12x2 and had them cut 2 feet off. Then I drew lines where I wanted the cuts on it, and took it to a cabinet maker by me and had them do it. The handle is 16 inches long and 2 inches wide. Make sure the grain of the wood goes straight through from the handle to the end and there’s no cracks in it. After I got it cut I stained it and coated it in polymer (3 coats each) and then taped the handle. I haven’t decided if I’m going to paint it or not, or if I do, what I’ll do with the paint. I’m also planning to make another one designed like the buster sword.
BASED!
I do sort of a "sword slashing from above" motion with a heavy dumbell for like 10 reps, sets of 3, I call the exercise "Guts' curls" (Idk where the "curl" would be in this, but the name stuck in my head)
*opens door*
so this is our son, he's quite big on .. anime .. and fitness!
You are so gay
