Since my gym is closed, should I just buy a bench press for my house? Is there anything else I should buy or is just a bench ok?

Obviously a squat rack and probably some dumbells around 50 to 80 pounds.
Don't get that.
If you have space go for a half cage or full cage.
How about this? Although it seems like it dosent come with a bar or weights so that’s kinda gay. Also I don’t really have enough room in my house for it
Bump
I have that bench+weight set.
That set is okish when you get it on sale.
I got mine for $50.
I use the bench more than anything and you will outgrow the weight in 2 months and will still be DYEL status.
If you got some cash, but a cage.
looks good but would take alot of space.
Im about minimalism so use a 20lb fixed bar and my DBs as weight...since i have 2x the weight in DBs than the shitty bar can hold.
Also easier to move around and load.
How much space you have?
How much is your wife willing to give you an allowance in advance?
Not much desu I might just buy the regular bench and some dumbbells cause I don’t have enough room for a cage.

Holy shit, this is based as fuck.,
I just sold these 2x cheap 45 lbs plates picrel for $200 just hours after posting the ad. I love this capitalism shit.
also how poor/cheap are you fuckers? I am on welfare and yet I succeeded in saving up for a Rogue SML-1 and a 5-90 lbs set of Powerblocks.
Welfare Cadillac.
Allah, do you pray on every rug?
For me an adjustable bench was about $60?
And power blocks for me was $250?
I live in a nordic climate )) it's for insulation
a squat stand and an adjustable bench then
when is shit gonna open again in the US?
i ordered squat rack + weights + bands and im not gonna get it all for a week. If shit just goes back to normal in a month then it would all be a waste
At this point you may as well just invest in a personal home gym instead of planning to return to a public gym. I'd do that and the ONLY thing I consider a real downside is not being able to show off to other people.
Going to a gym helps a lot with maintaining a routine. It's so easy to just start winging it and give up when you have a home gym.
my room is pretty small even for a bench let alone a squat rack.
The thing I miss the most from the gym is the cables. I can get by with my free-weights. I have a baller collection. But the cables just hit different.
How are the Powerblocks, user? I just found out about them yesterday and I'm in love.
You can still have cables. When you consider a rack to buy, try to get one that also can have a cable attachment. Or if you already have a rack, check if it has a cable attachment.
Or you can make your OWN cable attachments.
>ordered bench, squat rack, barbell, and plates on Saturday
>just had an email saying the bar isn't available and has been refunded
>not a single barbell available in the UK
>all fitness equipment stores have stopped taking orders "until further notice"
Considering smashing a window in my gym and taking a bar at this point lads.
>Bought myself a Rogue Ohio Power Bar.
>Shipping imminently.
>No longer available (just checked).
>Can't find plates or a rack that will fit in my room ANYWHERE.
Goddamn it.
Yeah you might be too late bro, sorry
Shit sold out quick. And the stuff that didn't, the prices have been jacked up by like x3. Fuck the market. Assholes know demand is so high they can inflate the price and we'll still pay
Good luck finding any equipment for sale right now. Weights and gym equipment is sold out everywhere.
I dont think people are really hoarding and reselling this shit. Its just a lot of people are buying stuff for home gyms right now and stores dont have enough stock for everyone.
They are pricey as fuck but worth it in the long run. It's just money and life is short
yolo
Didn't mean to imply that people have been buying things to resell on their own
Just that things from wholesale sellers that haven't sold out that I've seen, like squat racks, I've seen their prices go up in the past few days
Naw, I'm only buying shit at MSRP.
That's why I refuse to buy on the secondary markets right now, because people are gouging.
It's also why I'm really glad I already had my Ironmaster adjustable dumbbells. Though I wish I had at least gotten the 120 pound upgrade kit first.
Well I have the bar and got a decent bench coming. That's enough to get a full body workout with dumbbells until I can get a rack and plates. And I'm glad I nabbed that sweet sweet all stainless steel bar before it finally sold out too. The bar is one of the more important things.
Powerblocks are alright, but I personally recommend Ironmasters. They're nearly indestructible and have a lifetime warranty with good customer service even if there's a problem.
The only reason to prefer Powerblocks is if you absolutely NEED to change weight rapidly, as in less than ten or twenty seconds to change.
I do prefer the way the Ironmasters look. My Powerblock U90 also have a lifetime warranty.
Thought they were only ten years.
powerblock.com
Website says 5 years, actually. They must have lowered it from the 10 years I saw last time I checked.
I ordered everything a week ago, racks, mats, and pulley came in, bar and bench should be coming tomorrow. The weights haven't even shipped yet, I'm thinking of contacting them and asking them when they'll be shipping
fitpill me on the Powerblocks
I have an adidas rack, it has all the basic stuff. I got it for around 650 euros a couple of years back. Also a shitty 10kg barbell, two spinlock dumbells and a set of shitty and rusty plates that I got from my older brother.
All that plus an adjustable bench and a fixed one. I can pretty much do every important compound lift with my setup.
I got it all because I was too lazy to go to the gym and keep up with uni, it's a lot easier to stay consistent with a home gym. And now with all this quarantine bullshit I'm so glad I did it. I wish I could save up some money in the future and get better equipment though, my dream is to have a home gym with padded floor and Eleiko gear.
Dumbbells and a fucking rock.
Fuck the company I bought my plates from just refunded my money, anyone know where I can get come plate sets from?
Lol good luck finding any in stock
Nvm I found one, said it's going to take 1-2 weeks. Fuck man I already have everything else but the weights.
If you have a house, I would get a power rack instead. You can totally bench inside a power rack.
The adjustable bench i bought is ridiculously high up, so it fucks up the foot placement in my setup. Even when I sit on it with the seat facing up you hardly reach down with your feet and you can't pick up weights when on the seat because it's so far down.
I'm 6 foot btw.
I bought a bunch of plates in february lowballing people on offer up and craigslist for 50 cents per lb.
I bet they are fucking pissed.
>ridiculously high up
Seconded. I'm only 5'10 and the FID benches are way too long.
My bench youtube.com
Is that jiddish on that book?
see >54947638 This is the type of rack you need.
Also get an adjustable bench with leg attachments for leg curls and extensions.
Of course the bar and plates. Horse stall mats to protect the floor as well.
That is a perfect setup for the cost of 1-2 years gym membership.
Fuck that Rogue and Ivanko plate shit; unless you are Brian Shaw.
>spotted the jew
Kike
This
shut up you fucking jew
seething
no,just buy these. We can do more stuff with them.
LMAO,I bought a similar set in the beginning of the the year for 60€ on amazon ,and now I just checked and they are all beetween 350 /500€ lol
F
I'm afraid I'm gonna do too much on squarts and miss the rerack desu.
limit weight is around 100kg/150kg either way
I'm at 80kg and It has been fine,it's easy to place the bar in the rack
You bought them for a thousand dollars? I just saw them on there for half that.
link
Their website doesn't even list it as $1000
because the urethane series (the best powerblocks) have been discontinued
They're starting to remove the shit from Amazon, I think
remove yourself from existence
damn son
You could just get the 3 stages and build it yourself for way less.
link nigga
**DO NOT BUY MARCYSHIT** I bought their adjustable dumbell and curlbar set, and it fell apart as soon as it came out of the box, little metal flakes got everywhere, and eventually the plastic bits on the end broke, and the thing was useless. If you want to get serious, get serious gear.
Powerblock Sport is not the Urethane model, which was the most expensive
