No equipment to be found in the entire area both first and second hand (Netherlands)

Build my own barbell with a pipe I had laying around and crates of beer to adjust weight

Works kinda good, min weight about 20kg (44 freedom units) max weight somewhere around 45-50KG (+- 100 freedom units). Not very heavy but at least I can maintain some muscle this way.

ain't got room for a bench, rack, or barbell. Adjustable dumbbells worth it? Not the bullshit ones with the levels, the ones where you screw the weights on.

bench looks far too soft but based anyway. Reminder if you break a sweat and push yourself, even if you need to do a fuckton more reps, you'll still make gains.

Bought a 35lbs plate for curls and bodyweight stuff: planks, pushups, etc. Would have been 45lbs or dumbbells but for some reason all of those are 2 to 6 weeks delivery.

Someone also showed me Arnold's post, so I got a workout bar to see if I can't get some bodyweight rows going as well.

Bench is very solid wood and crate and a few cm of cushion so it works kinda good, and thanks ill just do more reps now that I think of it

why do people buy dbs with a fixed weight instead of buying a pair of dumbbell bars and a bunch of plates? Do people really hate their money that much?

I purchased a treadmill and weight bench today. Figure this is the first step to me converting to home gym full time (btw, you guys realize theres definitely going to be another flare up of coronavirus cases in the fall right? This will all be happening again later this year)

Only issue is I cannot find any place selling dumbells or anything weight related. Almost every place is putting a pause on orders. where did you guys get your stuff?

What me and my roomate are using for bench.
The couch on that end weighs 75lbs and then some. And then we've got two 30lb dumbells we put there.

Thank God I bit the the bullet during Christmas and bought myself a gift. York is based quality but they overcharge by shipping. All this costed me about 750 in total. I already had the dumbbells so don't count those.

Just did my first workout with my squat rack. Felt okay but having to focus on not hitting the shit in the garage with a 7ft barbell was kind of distracting, and having to actually place the bar instead of being able to slam it into a power rack sucked

I don't have a home gym, better be prepared to protect yours

I built mine about a year ago and I’ve never been happier about working out and not waiting on stupid shit being done to the equipment at my local gym.

Looks pretty cozy friend. I need to add an overhang to my set up.

If you got chains and carbiner clips you can pretty much attach ANYTHING to the bar.

Biked to 4 different Canadian tires trying to find dumbbell handles. Ended up doing 6 hours of biking and getting sick leg DOMs and found the last pair of dumbbell handles in the city (Amazon I on 1 month backorder too). Plus I picked up 170 lbs of plates from some guy on CL. Probably some of the last plates as well. I've seen people selling them for as much as $1.50/lb now.

I got no bench, just when I was starting to get the form down to. Should I just train press like I would bench?

I had the gym previously for proper barbell and heavy DB bench...but now thats fucked.

I used to do this with tub of dumbbells because setup is easier than with chains. Just lop a bucket over and toss in weight.
Accessory/cleanup work after proper presses at gym or as a warmup day before chest day.

Im in process of drafting a multipurpose cable machine+squat/OHP/bench rack.

House I'm renting has this old swing set built between these two trees with big wooden beams, about 13 feet up. Ordered a 12 foot fat jute rope yesterday, which I'm going to hook to one of the beams. Gonna get beast triceps.

Look into doing the floor press. Scooby has plenty of videos of doing them from the floor with dumbbells.

Why make a machine when you can pull, push, and drag the sled. Maybe look into making a slosh pipe, I hear they are pretty intense.

Changing the weight on spin lock DBs is very annoying. If I had unlimited money i would’ve bought a full set of fixed weight DBs

parallettes are great. You can maintain a pretty good physique (except legs) with these alone.

Yeah I got them on amazon immediately after the governor announced he was shutting down all gyms in my state. There were like 3 left. They're actually some off-brand ones that go all the way up to 71.5lb (32.5kg) which is really nice, boflex only goes up to 52.5lb.

I was thinking of getting some rings. How bad are ring dips really?
