Idk i think the whole situation is a lot less black and white than any of you are making out, and comes down to a discussion on quality of life, sanctity of life, responsibility, and freedom. The first question is that if people how genetic disabilities, should they be allowed to reproduce? What will the child's quality of life be? How long is the child expected to survive? Its something you can only apply on a case by case basis. That being said, the other example is people who take the piss out of a system by having children they cant afford, again irresponsible of them? a right? Should society bare the burden of an arguably poor decision or do we let the child suffer in poverty? le evil capitalism? Do we just forbid people like this from having children? Take them away under an already strung out social security service that also doesn't seem to provide an adequate quality of life, with children being left on their own with nothing at 18. Is it all just eugenics at this point? We can see that disabled people can still go on to live happy lives, but its in a capacity of their own living, if they had a taste of a normal life, would they still have chosen to be born? People who become disabled later in life have a tendency to attempt suicide and are almost always depressed.
