Why does everyone on the planet look better in a suit than I do?

I stack shelves for a living at a supermarket.

Been fucking crazy these past few weeks. Plenty of overtime though.

Henley and chinos (would wear jeans but don't have any right now)

.t software engineer

I still don't have a permanent assignment, so it's possible, but I think I'm shooting for a go fast jet.

Those dudes are legit though, I fly with a few old timer A-10 guys.

Also a USAF pilot.

He's right it's GOAT but 90% of my job is paperwork and spreadsheets.

>everyone, make hands like you're a mannequin

I FAIPed so I'm not drowning in queep yet, but I know it's coming.

Good for you. Which base?

Scrubs
But right now I'm pretending to be sick and will be "self isolating" for the next couple months

CBM

By the way, I know I'm going to sound salty but the queep is fucking real and it only gets worse as you go up. I worked my ass off for this job, and I actually hate it and can't wait to get out. The Air Force doesn't give a fuck about you. You are literally just a number to big blue.

Your only saving grace will be to have a commander that isn't a piece of shit.

I've heard ACC is worse than AMC or AFSOC, but I think it really depends on your specific unit.

Stash that OT in the stock market. It might get a little lower in the short term, but it will never be this low for the rest of your life.

It's bad everywhere you go despite any majcom. I heard that PACAF and USAFE are better but my specific airframe doesn't have PCS locations to either of those so IGIGFM. But I'd rather be here than any of the shithole bases AETC is at.

We've weirdly come to like columbus, but yeah it sucks. My wife wants Florida or Charleston, but I doubt that's happening. How much longer until you can bail?

help me understand, user. you're an instructor pilot but don't have a permanent assignment? are you still a student, or..? I'm a Navy scrub myself, so I don't know your training pipeline.

If you can't go fast, AC-130 dudes were also some of the chillest I've worked with

I'm coming up on half of my commitment in September.

It depends on what your goals are. I wanted fighters and did not get them, and then I wanted crossflow and my majcom told me to go fuck myself because my airframe is critically manned.

Charleston is very, very nice. Never PCS'd there but I have been TDY there a time or two.

Most people get their assignments right out of pilot training but a few people (me) are chosen to start instructing right away.

I'm leaning towards fighters when I finally drop but my wife is kind of scared of the lifestyle. She doesn't want to deal with deployments, but I don't know that flying C-17s across the world every week is any better.

C-17s are gone just as often, if not more than fighters.

I'm not a moose driver myself, but a couple of my best friends are. One of them is getting divorced. He's averaged 270 days a year away from home.

lol @ you plebs ITT

i have a few polo shirts myself. but don't you get tired of the single colors?

That's brutal. The lifestyle kind of sucks but my wife knew what we were getting into when we got married. She's happy with the relative stability of the IP life but I'm sick of AETC fuckery. I want to go actually do something.

Do you all park your jets outside of the base exchange?

d-did he kill that tree?

AETC is big gay, but it wasn't too long ago I was over Syria thinking "why the fuck am I here".

Imagine thinking polo is actually considered nice in a professional environment. Are you a 17 year old indian?

I taxi the jet over to the commissary for sushi 3 days a week.

single what?

its all about the material my guy

my layoff pajamas

Business casual, architect. It’s rare to see firms with business formal attire now a days, I think business casual is a good compromise for the profession. Not an overbearing level of formality and not too loose as to suggest not caring.

based

what stocks you guys buying when the market hits the floor?

Do adults actually wear clothes with big ass logos on them?

Just counting down the days until I can live where I want and work 10 days a month. 7 more years.

>believing there's a definitive point where your style changes
oof, your mid- twenties are going to be ROUGH
