Crazy strong and huge and a decent guy but it seems that strongman started blowing up (I might just be in a bubble and it might just be for me) after his reign, so I don't perceive him as relevant as the current top 4, and he isn't as legendary as someone like big z

he put on a very good performance at this years arnold, but as to the weight it was just not very competitive. he's always been very bad at the deadlift (the only person with a notoriously worse deadlift is robert oberst, but his is so bad that it's actually kind of pathetic and not even worth mentioning)

Probably one of the strongest humans to ever live and an incredible strength athlete. Unfortunately, nothing lasts forever and Brian's best days are almost definitely behind him in his sport. It might be best for him to call it quits and attempt a world record to end on a high note, like lifting a 650 or 700lbs stone.

DL scales proportionally with age during prime competing years. He just needs a solid 950 or so to guarantee 1 or 2 for the rest of his career. I think even 910 this weekend would have won him the Arnold.

It's kind of sad. Brian would have been the GOAT bu a huge margin if not for Big Z in Brian's early days and Thor in the later ones. Now that Mateusz is out there too he may be done winning for good. But maybe if he rests properly for another year I can squeak out one more.

This years WSM will show what he has left in the tank. He is clearly working on speed and dynamic movement to balance out his static strength. He could still get top 3 if everything goes right for him, but any place above that would be a huge jump.

Past his prime but a legend. Below Big Z but above Eddie Hall, Thor (for now). Was unlucky to compete in same era as Big Z and unlucky strongman seems to have got popular online when he's past his prime.

An all time great strongman, really likable and makes good videos. The only issue is his excuses have turned a lot of strongman fans against him.

Well the top 3 are Thor, Martins, and Mateusz. It's the fourth slot that's more competitive right now.

in placement sure, but Mateusz seems pretty low key in terms of public image especially compared to Thor anf Martins. 4th to me is Caron or uninjured Shivlyakov. Although if Shaw comes back he'll be the designated 3rd/4th place finisher with Martins.

I actually think he would have been a decent at this last Arnold. He would have beat Martins because of the deadlift,stone, and sandbag.(possibly dumbell press and hill carry because Martins dropped it 2×). So I am fairly certain Shaw would have been top 3 and it depends on what that did with other numbers if he could have gone for 2nd.

I think he'll do well at WSM. Missing the Arnold may actually be a blessing in disguise for him, as he'd be able to spend more time focusing on recovering from lingering injuries and coming into the (arguably) even more important of the two biggest meets closer to 100%.

He said he would have declined even if he did qualify, and focus on world's, but idk if that's just sour grapes. He didn't seem to be holding anything back in santa Monica.
