Height genetics do not work by averages. It's more like your child may turn out to be either 6'3 or 5'7. My dad is 5'8 and I'm 6'2 because my grandpa was 6'2. That said, my dad did not grow taller because of malnutrition (since he grew up very poor, many times his meals were just bread and butter).
