People are more familiar with these three eras thanks to pop culture, which means they're more marketable especially if they include historical inaccuracies that reflect the modern era of movies and comic books moreso than factual accounts of the time periods. Please don't complain and quietly consoom these great diverse and fantastical settings as they rewrite history to fit a modern agenda.

Yeah Brotherhood was in medieval rome. Origins made it seem like it was setting up for an Ancient Rome setting with the assassination of Julius Caesar and after greece it would've felt natural.

The only reason Origins and Odyssey is set in the Assassin's Creed universe is so fast travel and all the little game conveniences make some dumb kind of sense being that you're a simulation in the Animus. Also, they sell well because it's an established name. Thank god they abandoned the AC formula because that series was dogshit until they changed it to an open-world RPG clone. It's not great now but at least I can have some fun.
