Some people love it, others hate it.
I love it

how many threads are you going to make today?????

at least use a different image

If anything, it's underrated. I remember everyone on the internet was shitting on it when it released, but that's only because they had no idea how bad things will become later. Now people are starting to appreciate it, which is good.

Yas Forums is not one person zoomer

What are the highlights of the game for you guys?The combat doesn't look like anything I've played before and i heard the job system and equipping items in this game was complicated vs a normal rpg.

>this seems to be the most praised wherever I look
By Whom?

FF6 and FF7 usually rank first

FF7, FF6 and FF9 are the most shilled FF. Try harder

I like setting and Yoshida's artstyle plus I also enjoy the gambit system when just running around the map and fight low level mobs. I'm playing IZJS so I had to decide between jobs since it doesn't let you reset which TZA fixed this.

>to be the most praised wherever I look
it's shit

>Try harder
what?

>gambit system
I was looking into this and it kinda turned me off from the game. How exactly do gambits work?

Not him but 6,7,8 are the normie picks, Yas Forums's was always been sucker for Tactics, 12 and 9.

You configure gambits so the party do everything automatically, like you put a gambit that makes bash use cure when you are under 20% hp.
But it's optional

Like mmo macro, you can set then in any order you like
>"Heal all if they have less than 60% HP", "Attack whoever the leader is attack", "Cure ally who's poisoned"
You still have to buy the gambits(Heal X, Attack Y, Use Z) at stores in order to use/set them.
IIRC with TZA you can have 3 gambit sets so you can create 1 set for farming, another for running around and other for bosses.
if you don't like this you still can play it turn based or mix it

you have a list of conditions such as "Foe = weak to fire" match them with any action that character can do (ex: fira). You arrange these in order of operations so you can prioritize reviving/healing first, setting negative status on enemies next, attacking third, and applying buffs between fights.

So for example:
>Ally = KO --> Phoenix Down
>Ally health < 20% curaga
>Ally status = blind --> eyedrops
>Foe status = oil --> Firaga
>Foe = Fire-vulnerable --> oil
>Foe = nearby --> attack
>Ally = any --> shell

yeah theres a reason it gets praised a lot it even got a raid based on it in XIV

Okay that actually doesn't sound as complicated as I thought it would be. Actually seems like a good way to make sure my partners dont die. Braindead partner AI always piss me off this sounds pretty good thanks anons.

it was a good game, but the remasters improve it with the qol fixes. I honestly couldnt play the game again without them

>don't like something
>make daily threads about it
>retard haters just come by to be retard haters
It works everytime.

this esl kid in charge of knowing what shilled means

Every game set in Ivalice is a masterpiece.

my nigga

The game banks on whether you like "programming" your party members to behave exactly as you want them to.
Personally I like turning off gambits for whoever I am currently controlling and control all their actions manually while my party members support me.

revenant wings wasn't that special

>8
Nobody picks 8, what the fuck are you on about?

I still contend FFXII is the best RTwP system to date and it's a tragedy no other games used this system.

Almost. They're certainly better than typical FF games that's for sure.

It got a whole lot better once they released it in HD and added a speedhack, the originals combat was just too hecking slow

i like 7R better

holy based.

>Ivalice
Which FF games are set here? I havent played any of them before

FFT
FFTA
FFTA2
Vagrant Story
FF12
uhh that DS spin off nobody one ever talks about
like one or two more games I forget

No but there are some autistic fanboys who overrate it.

>I remember everyone on the internet was shitting on it when it released
For good reason:
finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Forum:Why_do_people_dislike_FF12_so_much?

14 has ivalice inside it's world

>How exactly do gambits work?
Attack = nearest
Heal when = under 50%

congrats you beat the game

FFTA2, the most addicitive DS game

is it actually better than FFT?

also I'd argue ouendan is more addictive

for me it's the world building and atmosphere. really fleshed out world with lots to explore, and lots of reasons to return to places to find yet more depth in the. the first city you go to is still the best in any JRPG i've played

If you do play it don't read any guides about min maxing characters just do what you feel is right and fun.

Not him but neither TA games grabbed me. They're felt like they were made for autistic children with the awful art style and the rules or whatever. FFT is miles ahead.

It's an autobattle simulator, it's fun but not particularly good.

>the originals combat was just too hecking slow
You could always open the options menu and speed it up even in the original.

>for good reason:
>Many feel that Vaan is a boring/undeveloped main protagonist (while many feel Ashe or Balthier are better).
True
>It is one of the FFs to have no internal romance so a recurring story plot was missing for the 'romantic' gamers
Fujos deserve the rope
>The different battle system is the biggest divider among fans/haters as it was unlike previous game and many disliked how it was possible with the gambits to make it so all you had to do was move and the game did the rest...
This argument is super dead when you realize it's literally impossible to set up a full gamit for every situation in the game. You're either changing it on the fly or issuing manual commands for stuff like weird status effects, elemental weaknesses, using poach for whatever reason, etc. TZA literally acknowledges this by giving you 3 gambit sets per character.
>A unfortunate point is that the story does lose a lot of energy about 3/4 of the way through (about giruvagun)
I hear people say this sometimes, but honestly I don't agree. Also "loses energy" is vague and subjective.
>and the mechanics behind finding current enemies for the bestiary (Larva Eater anyone?) were admittedly a pain
pleb filter. They could always look up a guide if they want.

>and this seems to be the most praised wherever I look
i am genuinely confused as to where the fuck you are getting this
ff12 is not a bad game by any stretch and it's totally worth a playthrough but i don't think i've ever seen it top someone's favorites list or top a top ff games list anywhere

usually you'll see shit like 5, 6, 7, or 9 show up most frequently. fft or ffcc if you're allowed to include non-numbered ones.

i think vagrant story was retconned wasn't it
also ff14 is set in a greater world that contains ivalice as a (historical) location i believe

Only IZJS had speed-up options.

see the upper half of that post.
>No but there are some autistic fanboys who overrate it.
Implying only the "fujo" strawman care about interesting character developments implies you're quite the autist indeed.

the honest truth is people ride ff12's dick (and I know some of these people) simply because it adopts a more fantasy-focused aesthetic (in this case Ivalice) and shys away from some anime BS in its story and instead uses some political intrigue.

The gameplay is at worst tedious and at best boring.

fujos aren't the only people who like romance
not that i think that it belongs in ff12, just speaking as a general matter

I have no idea I never played Vagrant Story just know that it has Ivalice in it, the Ivalice in XIV is actually its own version of it that takes place in that world so technically yes
t. plays the game

>i am genuinely confused as to where the fuck you are getting this
There are a lot of shills for this game on Yas Forums lately he's probably talking about them.

start at ff1 and play them all in order you fucking degenerate

Heard FFXII was close to Xenoblade 1 in terms of game design. Will I like it if I liked Xenoblade ?

I don't see how.

Yeah you tell him! =^_^=/ *writes another fanfic where Larsa and Vaan kiss and do butt stuff while Penelo watches*

I'm not talking about the speed up hacks. I'm talking about the ATB load speed which greatly increases the combat speed.
