Less than two weeks left to Lost Planet 2's 10th year anniversary! To celebrate the event there's going to be PC multiplayer sessions spread through multiple days, starting from May 9 (organized by the game's Steam community) and May 11-13 (organized by Yas Forums's). These past few months we've been working on reviving the game's campaign and multiplayer, and even though we're a small community it's going fairly well - two weeks ago we hit 11 concurrent players.
The game is currently 80% off on Steam, it still runs on gfwl but outside of possible first configuration hiccups it runs fine and as far as gameplay goes it's still the best TPS out there.
tl;dr Lost Planet is awesome, let's celebrate 2's 10th anniversary
Yeah it's dumb having everything locked behind a slot machine but at least it goes by quickly with coop and you get most stuff just by playing the campaign.

I don't think I used anything besides the base machinegun anyway. Shooting grenade 2 mid air was the ultimate in damage while machine guns DPS to ammo efficiency was godly

Finally someone else that shares the grenade love! Best way to kill anything and everything. But when it comes to arms, I'm more of a shotgun person especially because I'm not good at aiming.
I can't remember the variant shotguns besides the default one. Honestly I don't think I used most of the 2 and SP weapons except maybe the energy gun? I honestly don't recall. Yeah shooting grenades was such an important part of my strat I literally picked the "Start with maxed nades" trait. Grenade 2 was short range but more damage, but not so short range you'd get caught in its blast. Fucking godsend
I picked it up because of your thread. I'll see you on there ANTX81
Elijah Ross
Yup that's how I roll. I've never used grenade 2 much to notice the differences outside of longer detonation times and I think a bigger explosion. I should look it up, there's so many variants after all.
David Martin
It was sad that 3 killed it. They marketed it as NOTDeadspace when gameplay wise it really wasn't much different.
Cameron Ward
Is it really playable? Thought that MP was dead
Robert Davis
The only issue is with CPUs with more than 6 cores due to engine incompatibility but other than that it runs fine.
Jayden Bailey
Shotgun2 is two shots and causes electric stun and SP shoots confettis with a range so short that it basically makes it unusuable even as a joke.

Sometimes I wonder if anybody at Capcom gave a fuck about the IP. Even with 2 bombing and the whole "let's outsource everything because Inafune is a westaboo" I think that the series director could've done more to them to something that at least resembled LP in some form.
This thread is the reason that discord even exists. Since there's so few of us, I wanted to make sure there was a way we could all play together. Hell there's a Steam Lost Planet discord that does the same thing.
It is. So we join forces with the other discord and breathe life into it again.
It wouldn't even need it, just getting it off GFWL and onto steamworks with active support to revive the clanwars would be more than enough.
What we could really use is a proper sequel but we're never going to see one because even though capcom has shown promise recently with the RE2 and RE3makes lost planet was still one of Inafune's projects so the IP was intentionally killed by capcom to spite him. Chink grudges are fucking deep.
Grind that desert level with the Vagabundos and the satelite laser, when the enemy sand vehicle thingy starts blowing up, BOXES EVERYWHERE!
Help a Snowpirate out, a couple VS's can fuse in multiplayer cant they? How do yo do that?
Nicholas Jones
I'm probably gonna buy it now since I sold my PS3 several years back since barely anyone I know played it or cared are there any fun mods on the PC version?
Joshua Torres
Yes pic related. You can do it both in campaign in 4-something, the level that used Thunderpearl Precipice from MP / in which you fight the giant spider VS and some MPs layouts. The input is something like pressing L3/R3 and steering left/right on the sticks then getting close to the other VS.
