So what's up with Ohya being consistently ranked as the worst girl? Because of that, I went into Persona 5 expecting to hate her or something but she turned out to be one of the better ones. She had a plot relevant social link, an entertaining supporting character exclusive to said social link, a very clever design that's based on the Persona she gives you, she herself is a very entertaining character with a proper amount of character growth, and compared to the Devil links from 3 and 4, is actually a decent human being.

She's not as terrible as people make her out to be, she's just the worst of the bunch. Her perk is worthless and her design leaves a lot to be desired, there are some concept sketches floating around of her and basically all of them are infinitely better than what we got as the final product. Her lipstick and hair ruin what could have been a great design. I actually really like how her social link ties into the actual story, it's a shame it's wasted on an otherwise not very likable character.

It's almost entirely the design, people saying it's because of the confidant perks are just coming up with some excuses because they don't want to say that's the only reason.

I actually prefer the design she got. There's just something about the vast majority of characters in 5 that just look cookie cutter, but Ohya looks different enough that I can dig it. Her concept art made her look too much like everyone else. It's kinda like how Takemi's concept art made her look more different like what I like about Ohya, but they decided to go with a cuter version.

I'm a short hair kinda guy, what can I say? She's also missing the main thing I like about her current design, and that's the Beelzebub inspiration.
