Do you travel a lot? The answer is probably not, so a tower makes more sense in 90% of use cases.

Also just build it. While installing the cooler and mounting the mobo to the standoffs can be somewhat stressful the first time you do it, it's mostly as easy as putting together lego.

Gaming laptops are overpriced and complete shit

Build one you pleb.

A "gaming" laptop is never the answer.
Buy a prebuilt for $1000 and make sure the components are good and not filler.
Handheld gaming is always nintendo.

"gaming laptop"

Build a real pc
Those things can be a little tricky but I would say ram is the stressful part because the first few times you feel like the amount of force required will break the board.

You're like the 3rd inbred to make this joke, fuck off

it's not a joke and if your picture was something more eye catching you would get 50 more by now, stfu and apologize

Gaming laptops are fine. They're far better than a tower if you're concerned about aesthetics. A tower is fine if you won't keep it in your bedroom. However, if you never have women visit, are a gay, or plan on becoming a wizard, get a tower with all the RGB crap.

>They're far better than a tower if you're concerned about aesthetics
Jesus christ this is the worst thing i've ever read on Yas Forums

Ignoring the people who just automatically assume you should build a tower. I use a tower myself but I used a gaming laptop for a few years in university since I wasn't at home much. Yes a tower is vastly superior but it doesn't matter if you can't use it.

Are you a salaryman who sees the inside of a hotel room more often than the inside of your home? If so, buy a good gaming laptop, you should be making enough to justify the high price tag. If you aren't, you shouldn't consider a gaming laptop under any circumstances.

Don't get a high end gaming laptop or you run the risk of it melting to death after a year like my friends 980m laptop did a couple years ago. Get a mid range gaming laptop that will run cooler if you really really want the portability.

Heh, I'd like to see those.

Didn't even focus on the photo but now that you've pointed it out I want to own a pair! First day out of isolation gotta look my best

Unfortunately most new parts available have meme rgb now so it's hard to avoid it. I either turn it off or if I can't like my keyboard, I set it to solid white. Same with my fucking ps4 dumb rgb lighting on the controller I turn that shit off.

RGB > Performance Specs
Who gives a shit about that RTX 2080Ti if you don't have some sick multi-colored lights to show it off

Also thinking of building a new pc but how are the 5700xt drivers now? A lot of people seem to have trouble with them. But a 2070 super is like 100 euros more expensive with no real advantage in most benchmarks.

If you want a portable gaming machine, build something small form factor.

Thats a pretty nice machine. Cut the frills and a nice form factor. I must say well done.

If you buy a prebuilt (that includes "gaming" laptops) you're a faggot full stop. Assembling the shit yourself and understanding each component is part of what makes having a PC rewarding.
You'll never have to send it in for repairs either since you usually have enough common sense by the time you have your first PC built to be able to diagnose and fix problems yourself.

>small form factor
>posts a fucking luggage chest

Unless you absolute NEED to be able to travel around with your PC I'd advise against it. I made a SFF PC for fun a while back and it is such a fucking headache, more than its worth. Limited mobo options, SFF GPUs are shittier and more expensive, and the laptop HDDs a lot of these cases are designed to exclusively accommodate are also more expensive. Granted the case I bought could have accommodated a normal size GPU but I needed all that extra space that the SFF GPU left behind to put my full-size HDDs because fuck buying laptop drives I'm only going to use for a single build.

While I agree that knowing your computer is highly valueable and saves a shit ton of money. If building higher spec laptops were more viable I'd agree 100% but if you need portability then there isn't really an alternative

Even if you travel a lot get a micro tower for fucks sake.

If that's a 24" monitor in the background then its pretty small

Whats wrong with laptop drives?

MAKE SURE IT GOT SICK RGB

Attached: 1575593697399.gif (350x409, 437.39K)

How do I build one like this? I actually little space. Or can you put toweres horizontaly? Or would they be bad for the hdd

Make sure you get programmer socks and gaming panties if you want to join the master race

Depends on if you travel or what you want to play if you're like me, dont care about muh graphics, AAA garbage, or big 3d titles then a laptop is fine. I like the control scheme. I could care less about the graphics. But if you're the opposite and your only interest is the big name pc games and max settings get a tower. I had a dedicated gaming laptop but the surface pro 4 has worked for everything I've needed or wanted to play so far

They're expensive and useless outside of cases that exclusively accommodate them.

Imagine being this homophobic

laptop is ok if you need the mobility for other aspects. maybe you are a student or you need to bring a computer to class to take notes or whatever. really a laptop only exist so kids can convince their parents its for school
