Nintendo still use faxes to send documents

>The issue is that while many people outside of Japan view the country as on the cutting edge of technology, this isn’t the case will all aspects of its business culture. In a story in The Washington Post, reporter Simon Denyer explains that many IT departments and corporate strategies haven’t changed in Japan since the 1990s. Companies still regularly use fax to send documents, and they have “little awareness of cloud computing or video conferencing tools.”

What a fucking disgrace. no wonder their online is trash

Sony probably do too, it's a Japanese thing

NONOOOOOOOOOOOO NOT THE DOCUMENTERINOS
NOT THE HECKING FAXO

This. Japan can't seem to find it in itself to get rid of that thing.

playstation hasn't been japanese in years. the ps4 was made in america

>Sony probably does it too
I worked for Sony before and they don't, retard.

Lots of companies still use faxes for business. This is a non-issue.

Why is everybody just instantly believing this baseless twitter rumor?

nips love faxes, it's retarded but that part is probably not a rumor

A call centre in America isn't corporate in Japan

Sony in Japan* probably does too

Simon Denyer is the head of Washington Post's office in Tokyo. Regardless of the rumor, what he's saying about tech is true.

the US military was using floppy disks until last year

This, I used to fax things from time to time at my old job, especially if a signature was required. I dont see the problem.

return

I still send faxes at my job.

Lots of places still use faxes, hospitals for example.

If it works it works. No need to change shit just because it's old.

insurance company it guy here, our Hong Kong branch still uses fax and it's a pain in the ass to troubleshoot when something goes wrong. we just tell them to contact the local manufacturer support so they can come in and fix it.

Oh yeah the fax thing is true for sure.

They still have their medical computers in the military hospitals running on architecture from the 80s with no GUI

>need to send important message/document
>"Sir, the internet is slow and we appear to have no connection even though we paid $50,000 this year to our internet provider. Want me to call them using our telephones that do not need internet connection?"
Faxes make more sense in a business view, something you Zoomers wouldnt understand

Because the twitter cited a resetera poster whose track record on Nintendo Direct information has been 100% correct 100% of the time? There's a reason all these major sites are reporting on it, fucking retard.

>Nintendo still use faxes
So do your doctor and pharmacist.

Japan is a homogenous society where everyone feels more connected to one other and prefers face to face contact. Here in America nobody wants to do that when you're forced to interact with niggers and women all day, so we've developed ways to avoid that through remote working.

wonder what fax machine miyamoto uses

Reminder that coof will cleanse the earth of these retarded boomer faggots and these shutdowns are only delaying what needs to be done.

OPEN UP NOW

no wonder their games are filled with soul

If it ain't broken no reason to buy new techs that's designed to fall apart. like every shitty smart device.

We still use Fax here in Germany too.
I'd imagine every country does for legal documents. Purely digital documents sent through emails or what have you are just way too easy to fake.

And they are also the least leaky company out there. What does that tell you?

>internet slow
>in the fiber optic era

>washington post

Like he said, baseless garbage.

Yas Forums

I find the whole medical system to be really slow at using technology, and the people in the system are like trained parrots, unable to change from what they were taught at medical school

>Because the twitter cited a resetera poster whose track record on Nintendo Direct information has been 100% correct 100% of the time? There's a reason all these major sites are reporting on it

This is what news media in the west consider a source and something that needs to be reported? Fucking retards.

That is oddly a pretty smart way to not leak information, good on them I guess?

>NOOOO NOT THE FAX MACHINIRINO!1!1!1
Fuck off back to Twitter autist.

This is not limited to Nintendo and it's not limited to Japanese companies.

If you've ever worked in an office you've seen this. It has nothing to do with Nintendo's ignorance of online services, which is a totally different issue.
Major businesses all work on the "if it ain't broke" mentality, fax is still easy as fuck and the advantages of cloud aren't worth totally overhauling all their stuff and spending millions on redoing infrastructure to accommodate new systems.

So Nintendo has Animal Crossing this year....and nothing else? Ports I guess, the Switch sure is starved for more ports.
