I don't get it, these games is all about human ugliness. Why expect anything but?
Series is all about the brutal and ungly things people do to each other
It was done in a retarded way.
well the "fans" are shitposters so what do you expect?
>It was done in a retarded way.
Great thanks for letting us know.
sage
JWWWWWWWSS
This isnt a human
not gonna buy your shitty jew game, tranny. go kys. sage
>This isnt a human
Is mental illness not human?
I don't want to play as the villain especially since the structure of the game is retarded. Should have been Abby for the first half then Ellie. There's zero reason to sympathize with her as it is. Also the whole REVENGE BAD plot is shallow as all fuck
I USED TO HAVE BALLS!!!
You don't develop characters that people like and care about and kill them off in unsatisfying ways.
You can, but then you need to give the players something else to care about, which looking at this game so far doesn't seem to exist.
If this game is a glorified movie like the first Last of Us(which it looks like it is) what motivation do I have to sit through hours of bullshit if I don't care anymore?
I didn't pay for a movie ticket, I don't feel obligated to sit at my fucking seat and watch it through
Any sane person would just turn off their game after they saw that cringy cutscene of Joel dying and try and get a refund ASAP.
>You don't develop characters that people like and care about and kill them off in unsatisfying ways.
Yes you do. Especially when it's a game like The Last of Us.
That's why I said you can do that, assuming you can progress the story in a way that doesn't need those characters. Which doesn't exist
It was a character story of Joel and Ellie. Moral ambiguity and cruelty were addressed a bit, but it was never really the focus, in my opinion.
>It was a character story of Joel and Ellie.
The first game was. But this isn't the first game.
You didn't even read the rest of that user's post
His death could've made sense in the narrative, but it was handled too poorly.
1. Abby is a contrived character, her connection to the plot of the first game is so shaky that its borderline retroactive continuity
2.It tries to paint Abby as justified and morally superior to Joel.
3.It tries to force us to sympathize with Abby over Joel and Ellie, despite Joel being the more well developed character who we have known for longer as well as the protagonist of the last game, and despite Ellie being virtually innocent and a victim in the situation
3.It turns the story from one about doing what you have to do to survive, about renewal of hope in away, to one about simple revenge, with a cliche violence begets violence moral
4. the skittle bag kill squad in which every character is a token is trashy as fuck
meant for
He's being retarded on purpose.
Based retard
>sensible
Anyway in my opinion the game was about finding things to fight for that give life meaning, otherwise you're just surviving and that makes you no different from the zombies or animals. Joel lived as one of those monsters for 20 years until Ellie grew on him. He saw the beauty in her and what she stood for, that's why he didn't give her up to the fireflies. I think he says this in the game even.
There is no beauty in macho man randy savage beating on 2 lesbian teenagers.
Yeah, that's the reason I'm disappointed with all these leaks. Don't care about the whole lesbian stuff, but I'd have liked to see Ellie's and Joel's story continue and end somewhat satisfactory instead of "LOOK THAT ONE NPC YOU KILLED HAD A DAUGHTER AND NOW SHES GONNA FUCK YOU UP HAHA VICIOUS CIRCLE AND ALL THAT"
People are grossed out by trannies. The end. If Abby was a normal looking women or man people would be taking this better. But everyone is sick of trannies and having to appeal to their mental illness.
>it's okay when GTA does it
>>"fans" get butthurt when this is brought to a sensible conclusion.
nah fans get mad when the story turns to a tmblr fanfic fest. when people realize that they bought a $60 game only to play 6 hours because ellie campaign, the game will tank hard.
The fact that people continually refuse to acknowledge that this plot is poorly-executed as fuck is actually mindboggling.
Not really, people thought it cheapened his character. Also Johnny was a pretty minor character all things considered
>Anyway in my opinion the game was about finding things to fight for that give life meaning, otherwise you're just surviving and that makes you no different from the zombies or animals. Well yeah, but his reckoning would come sooner or later. For all the things he did prior to meeting Ellie, and all the things he did to protect her. I like Joel as much as the next person but he "deserved" getting unceremoniously killed with a golf club. It matches the kind of story and world that the characters exist in.
>Giving a shit about what Yas Forums thinks
The opinion of people who judge a game before it's even out is worthless.
>nah fans get mad when the story turns to a tmblr fanfic fest. when people realize that they bought a $60 game only to play 6 hours because ellie campaign, the game will tank hard.
All the tublr people love Ellie, though. Joel is a mixed bag for them.
>approach with an open mind
literally code for it's shit but I can't say anything that will hurt sales
>It will tank hard cope
I think the issue is being forced to play as the character that brutally murders the fan favorite from the first game. Also take control of her as she beats Ellie (another fan favorite) nearly to death. Of course that's going to piss fans of the first game off.
>Play Mass Effect 1
>start up ME2
>some random batraian bears Shepard to death
>leaves Liara for dead as well
>it was the son if some random enemy you killed
>you are forced to play the rest of the game as this character
Yeah, people would be pissed.
Oh shit that's one of those cordyceps zombies? I thought something looked off with him.
The Last of Us isn't Mass Effect user. Why do this retarded comparison?
Similar situations.
Do this with any game sequel, and I guarantee the backlash would be the same.
>Similar situations.
No. They are not "similar situations". Mass Effect is a space opera. not a drama about the bitter struggles and human ugliness of a post apocalyptic world.
>All the tublr people love Ellie, though. Joel is a mixed bag for them.
nope tumblr is tranny central. ultra beta guys and any kind of masturbation crazed fag.
>>It will tank hard cope
6 hours campaign
>You don't develop characters that people like and care about and kill them off in unsatisfying ways.
It has been done a million times. Look at the way Frank Herbert killed Paul in the Dune sequels.
Its Tranimal.
half trans, half animal
If Joel were to ever die in this series, it would've been by protecting Ellie. He didn't.
The writer for this game doesn't understand how to tie themes together. If you're deluded enough to think people are upset just because he died, graphically, then you're missing the point.
Not only is he given an improper death, you're also forced to play as the cause of that improper death. This isn't rocket science. It's a basic misuse of themes.
>Do this with any game sequel, and I guarantee the backlash would be the same.
Well of course but there aren't many games like TOLU.
Why would I WANT to play as Abby? Why would I even have any motivation to see her side of the story after she brutally murders one main character of the original and decides to hunt down the other? Forcing us to play as a character that was basically designed to be hated might be subversive but that doesn't make it a good decision.
