Fun small but nice extra detail in gaming. Like checking an already opened box and get a bit of text saying how you already took the content.

>that one part of FF7 where you can find Cait Sith's ultimate weapon super early but Cloud doesn't take it because it's just a megaphone
That always made me smile

>character interacts with a mirror
>"lookin' good!"

>NPC tells you to get them something that is already in your inventory
>Your character tells them they already have it and the NPC actually reacts to how convenient that is.

>character interacts with a mirror
>get one of 20+ little quips about how you look
>the quips change depending on the party leader
>mirrors are a significant part of characterization

Alundra is fucking great.

I'm enjoying it. Feel the enemies are a bit on the sponey side and the platforming isn't amazing but overall it's kind of how I wish Zelda went. Only just beat the cemetery section with the rock golem but it gives me the puzzle dungeons I wish Zelda became. Switch/Block puzzles mixed with some nice diddles. While Zelda is just so braindead I can easily sleep through it's dungeons.

Wait until you get to this place. AHAHAHAHAHA

I need to play this game and Azure Dreams

I do have to ask will spongey enemies stop becoming a thing? Got the iron flail and some enemies still take a weird long time to kill. I'm happy with difficulty with regard to puzzles and enemy abilities but most of the combat is just annoying. That being said really love the dungeon layout so far and can't wait to see what it has for me.

What game? I might add this into something I'm planning in the future

Yeah, you'll get upgraded swords and a flail upgrade at some point.

That's good. Dungeons are interesting but enemies are just annoying to fight.

For some reason, the localised versions of the game also doubled the hp of all enemies. Combat ended up becoming the worst part of the game thanks to that.

Well thank them because they did shit lime that all the time in the 90's.

Whats the deal with american teams fucking up the games code during translation of JRPGS?

Fuck off Brad you suck at Videogames

Hopefully you leave them as small little quirky lines like "Lookin' good!" instead of pretentiously trying to describe the characters like a Max Payne scene.

There's a lot of "make it harder to fuck with the rental market" since Japan made it illegal to rent games.

This place caused so much frustration that they released a walkthrough on their official website back in the day

The only shitty part of Alundra is trying to win the upgrades from the lottery color game

I remember Dragon Warrior 4 doing this.

Megaman Battle Network lets you press A on most of the background scenery like benches and trees and get a little message

I had to get my older cousin who got me into the game to do it for me and it still took him ages.

One of my favorite games of all time. The dream walking, the character deaths, the overall plot. Never has a game filled me with such dread after finishing each boss and then returning to town wondering who might have perished in the night while I was gone. It was such a sad game fuck. Even the ending is bittersweet if you watch the animation that plays.

Also loved the sprite work and the music. So much soul.

Man, I think I'm going to have to dig out my PSP and play it again.

Also this song

Gave me such chills during the scenes in played in with Meia. When you invade her dreams and learn about who she is and where she came from. When you realize her mother was burned at the stake for trying to defy the false god, and they would have done the same to her if she had not hid and escaped. The game had so much dread and sorrow in it. It's filled with despair right up until the very end.

That last dungeon theme, absolutely dripping with melancholy
