Why are slings so underrepresented in videogames? They're the simplest weapon to make so they should be the main ranged weapon for early game
Why are slings so underrepresented in videogames...
Cause they're fucking gay
idk, modern might be animation reasons.
BG I had 3 or 4 at first.
not sure bout slings but slingshots are hugely saturated weapons in the video game industry
this watermelon could have fed a poor kid in africa
but the webm will keep people entertained for life
slingshots are gay as fuck
Same reason early guns are; they're high-damage but inaccurate as all hell, which isn't very fun.
except the watermelon had already been imported into the country and bought by that dude.
What, you think the melon would've hopped on a ship to Uganda if he hadn't smashed it?
because they're hard as fuck to use properly, look like shit, and bows are more iconic
>bows are more iconic
I think this is basically it. same reason swords are favoured over spears or whatever
slings are fucking great in TOME
it could have fed a poor minority in his country
instead it's being played with by a rich white man
Why did this turn into a race thing? are you implying poor white folks can't eat watermelons?
>no Cu Chulainn game where you snipe off chunks of an army with your sling
I've honestly thought about how slings would work in game beyond simply being a point and shoot gun skin. You hold R2 to equip and load, then tap it rhythmically somewhat like how Nero charges his sword in DMC, only the better you are at keeping time and the better you can speed up your presses, the faster you'll spin the sling. This increases firing range and relative damage, but takes a little skill and time. Press R1 to release. Pressing R1 without charging it with R2 just does a quick shot that will stun an enemy, which allows you to close the gap. You can still move while charging shots, though any short of sharp turns or sprints will naturally decrease the force.
>early game
>not the entire game
>iconic
this word doesn't really mean anything
poor white people don't have it nearly as bad as minorities
realistically they can just eat something else while this watermelon could be the difference between life and death for a minority
>they're high-damage but inaccurate as all hell
actually its the complete opposite
slings are very accurate but they wont hurt you after 50m if youre wearing a thick jacket
The destruction of the watermelon symbolizes the destruction of niggers and all they stand for. We must destroy all the watermelons to secure a future for our race.
experts estimate it would cost $30 billion to solve world hunger
if 100 million ps4 owners donated to charity instead of buying a ps4 you could solve world hunger
ps4 owners are immoral
Yet Alexander, Hannibal and the later Romans legions hire Balearic slingers due to their effectiveness (they deal damage even if the enemy is wearing armor due to blunt force trauma) and range (unlike arrows, slingstones are not affected by heavy winds nor rain).
And since their ammo is cheap to find and make, they're perfect for suppressive fire against enemy heavy infantry (you can force the enemy to take cover or form a shield wall/testudo so their movement speed is reduced whilst the rest of your army can outflank them without having to waste expensive arrows to be wasted hitting their shields)
>solve world hunger
>retards start reproducing more
>have to spend even more money to keep those retards alive
DnD games usually have them as the ranged weapon that anyone can use.
They usually suck shit though.
>import population boom to homeland
>cheap labor and votes
>profit
not if you lace their food with chemical castraters
>cheap labor meme
Cheap labor can only starve off further automation for so long and suddenly your previous cheap labor turns into extra mouth to feed.
that's when you let them sell drugs so you can escalate police state, profit off the black market, and put more people in for-profit prisons :)
MGS2 is the only game I can thing of that has a sling for the guards gun.
hiiiiiiiide da watermelon
slings are just as good as guns in AOE2
And now I want to play Civ. Thanks, dick. That's not going to go away for days.
I dunno man, Skavenslave Slingers are actually decent early game.
not until you play some civ
The damage falloff is one thing, but you're not gonna hit anything after 20m.
Look up Balearic slinging contests to get an idea of how hard slings are to aim.
