The depression in the first part was pretty well explored with the poems and such, and then they had to do the super spoopy twist of meta horror shit and it's downhill from there. And by super spoopy twist, I mean it repeats what is already a common trope in the most predictable way, foreshadowing to the point of lampshading the foreshadowing.

I don't know, it's like it starts to feel like malware. Like if it's able to fuck around with game files, can it also fuck around with my other files? Can it install software in the background while I play? Will it enable a script that is on a timer that'll activate in a few years and start fucking with my computer as a continuation of the game? It just doesn't sit well with me when a game does that kind of stuff.

I've played the entire game and I promise you it doesn't do boop except for know what you're playing on (such as Steam) or if you're streaming, and then the username you're running your computer on. It's not malware, if that's the only thing holding you back from a pretty fun horror experience, don't worry

Any software you install can do whatever the fuck it wants. I generally trust stuff from big named developers because a lot of people use their software and if it was found to do anything mischievous it'd be found out really fast. But once a software starts fucking with things on your computer without my permission, all bets are off for me.
