All matchmaking uses this pseudo rating bullshit. All it ends up doing is putting good players on teams with bad players facing off against mediocre to average players. I dont understand how this has been the standard for over a decade now, just put players of equal rating on both fucking teams.

I wish they were more clear. I played R6:Siege back when there half as many operators and much less to think about other than raw aim and intuition so I got around a 2:1 w/l record just solo queuing a ton for a month but I came back more than a year later and I just get put against much better players who must play a lot and know all the things to watch out for, which I assume has something to do with the hidden casual mmr that's forcing me to always play plats or higher every match? I honestly have no clue.

stop playing at late hours (relative to the server), filter game modes that nobody likes to play (ctf) and filter maps nobody likes (powerhouse), otherwise you'll increase the chances of having multiple bots on a team

No you cant. TF2 is an inherently casual game with random crits and varying loadouts which means even if you blow through 11 people the 12th is statistically very likely to get lucky and kill you. Theoretically your team can be so bad and inconsequential in the current match that you are competing against 12 other people alone, and it's extremely unlikely you will win even if you are good at the game. The only exception to this is if you're a literal spinbot or do something silly, like back cap.
