Persona 3 FES

Just began playing Persona 3 FES, any tips?

Don't get attached to your individual Personas. They're meant to be fused into stronger ones, and you can always resummon them again.

if you're struggling, follow the golden rule of SMT
use buffs retard

Don't go to the lobby of tarturus if your teammates are tired unless your done for the night, they will leave the party. The machine in the mall is good for raising your character stats but expensive early on. Try to we fuse weapons that counter a party memberd weakness.

Yuko is the best waifu. Save often, it doesnt take long till you face enemies with instant kill moves and it gets pretty fucking boring to grind 9 floors of tartarus again because some fucker hits Mudoit only gets worse later in the game when the checkpoints start to be 20 floors apart

Make sure to stay on top of your stats and keep them leveled through the game. SP management is important so it doesn't hurt to look up shadow weaknesses.

If you want to grind, go to Tartarus the night before a full moon. Your party won't get tired.
Always fuse.
Don't try to get everything your first playthrough.
Don't use Ken.

When fusing for your main character, cover whatever and anything your others can't do-- elements, status ups, whatever it is. MC should be a wild card as the story probably implies and should be flexing to whatever the fight needs. Ideally he commands all elements and the strongest healing he can at all times.

When fusing personas, make sure you use the compendium to save ones you like. This is especially useful if a persona you like has skills you want to pass forward into multiple fusions.
The compendium is a fucking huge help, so don't sleep on it.

Try not to let your MC be weak to mudo or hama shit if you can.

Other than that a lot of SMT is just knowing what you can throw at your opponents and what they can throw at you. Keep a stock of that and you should have a fair idea of how to progress going forward.

Restart and get the party control mod

Level up Knowledge, Courage or Charm early if you want to cuddle Mitsuru, Fuuka or Yukari respectively, best girl Elizabeth has no requirements but her dates aren't social link, but missions she gives you in her section, speaking of which, don't beat up yourself in order to do the fetch one, don't give up days you could instead raise social links if you are already leveled enough

based

Just one: play P3P instead

Persona 3 has the best version of Once more, where if someone gets knocked down they skip their next turn. if you're fighting a strong enemy, it may be better to knock down and not go for the all out attack

Shit opinion. P3P is objectively the worst version of the game lmao. P3P babbies haven't played the original, and I say t his from the perspective of someone who played P3P first. The amount of cut content is baffling, and almost on the level of Dead Rising on the Wii narratively and graphically.

cringe.

>mitsuru is the best girl
>don't keep doing tartarus each day, try to do it quickly so you have more time for the social links

Don't postpone stuff related to combat (grinding, doing requests) for the sake of the school sim part.

I made that mistake my first playthrough and was so fucking overleveled fighting bosses I thought new party members were supposed to come over leveled so you'd use them.

>cut content
Isn't it just the 3D free roaming and anime cutscenes? And The Answer, but that was added on FES.
On the other hand, it does add a whole lot of things, like an entire second playthrough with the female protagonist.

And 3d cutscenes iirc

Get Thor, he's the shit. Massive physical attack, and lets you change your physical attack to thunder damage, with a thunder up skill. It all stacks,

Use tactics constantly. You can't control your party directly, but tactics work extremely well. Manage SP, and use your party members as meatshields if you need to.

And cuts fusion spells, and limiting the pc to just one weapon.

Doesn't Thunder Reign paralyze shit too?

Literally the biggest cheese strat on shit that doesn't have any sort of resistance towards electricity.

Fusion spell list cut down, MC can only use one weapon, no anime cutscenes, and it manages to look uglier

You just get them with gems so technically they aint cut.

Yes, but Thunder Reign is an odin skill in P3

Hold the circle button on the map when moving locations, it speeds up the animation.

They are in the way you use them. And unless you farm specifc mobs for hours and you ain't getting probably more than 3 in a playthrough.

>manages to look uglier
Do you mean the 3D models? I didn't notice any difference between the PSP and PS2 models. It was just lower res because of it being a handheld.
I actually liked the visual novel cutscenes instead of the 3D models, since I read them a lot. The overworld map was also faster to navigate.

>Mitsuru
>Early
Mitsuru is one of the few you CAN'T start early, no matter what.

dont use Mitsuru or she will marin karin. And marin karin doesnt mean she will marry you.

P3P is fine as a 2nd playthrough after FES. Female route was fine because of your male S.links partners like Akihiko and Junpei to understand more shit about them

I have used almost all the fusion spells at least once on my first p3p playthrough. I am probably just really lucky then

Play P3P instead so you can play it how it's meant to be played: controllable party members and feeding skill cards to Orpheus because you're not bipolar.
