upcoming elden ring

we play another genre of videogame that we never played before for the first time, make sure the game we play is also the soulless copy/pasted sequel.

I liked Dark Souls immensely but I never became one of those people that consider it the ultimate videogame or the only videogame worth playing.
Maybe it's the fact that I was already playing videogames at least 15 years before Dark Souls was released.

Nah. The game will be very different from Dark Souls, being more of From's spin on The Witcher / Dragon's Age formula.

Eh that sucks I guess, their spin on it probably wont be bad though.

>Focus on dialog and galloping through an empty open world
I hate that kind of game so at least for me it won't be worth playing. Maybe for someone who likes The Witcher will be enjoyable.

Play an easy game for a while and then go back and okay darksouls again, just finished another play through of ds 1 and now I'm playing the uncharted collection as a pallet cleanser since they are all free in PlayStation

bloodborne and demon's souls were much better games.

the original is pretty outdated. remake it in the ds3 engine.

Demon's Souls is in no way better than Dark Souls. Bloodborne would be better than Dark Souls 1 if it had a PC port. I tried playing it again this morning and fuck it felt like I was playing in slow motion.

I meant Bloodborne felt slow. The framerate was awful. Really unfortunate because it's definitely the best aesthetically.

the interviews seem to point in the main aspect of the game to not be on dialog since the villages are still empty and are in the dark fantasy tone. they also pretty much like filling their worlds in with details all throughout if you are going to be able to walk through it so i wouldnt put it entirely in the bin just because of them saying open world when they just meant an open field type of game.

You can't.

I dunno man, I was out of college when Dark Souls hit PC and I thought it was amazing

>mommy didn't buy me a ps3
fucking underages

stop trying to recapture the magic of that game. do new things, be creative, be original, trying to copy old things just leads to stagnation.

>Bloodborne would be better than Dark Souls 1 if it had a PC port.

Don't get me wrong; I do think that the game is amazing.
I just don't see it as the only game worth playing. Played it, enjoyed it as much as possible, then moved on. Haven't touched it since 2015.

>Spend God knows how much money hiring the most famous living western writer to write the game
>Expecting it to not revolve around said writing

Knowing that it had GRRM, open world and horses was enough to make me scratch that game from my list of upcoming games.

Make a game that's just two doors. One door leads to another room with two doors, the other door just fucking kills you.
There you go, the authentic Souls experience

I'd put it in the bin based solely on the hack they hired to write it

Interconnected world would be a good start.

I would do the same even if they had hired my favorite writer.
Hiring a big name to work on your game means that it's aimed at a mainstream audience, not you.

Stop designing the fucking games around fast travel and boss fights.

>FromSoftware approached Martin for a meeting, but Miyazaki originally did not expect that Martin would be willing to meet him so easily. Miyazaki really enjoyed his time with the celebrated author, and immediately felt something clicked. When he proposed the idea to make a game together, he was happy to find out that Martin was all in.

He is also just making the mythos, miyazaki is still having everyone make the typical dark souls like story but this time with martin for the background mythos.

>Implying porting a couple Bloodborne maps to Dark Souls 3 is the same as a proper Bloodborne port
You guys are delusional as fuck. If you want to play Bloodborne so badly just get a cheap PS4; I did that on 2017.

>Dark Souls 1
>Game is made with no clear story or plot in mind
>Only a select few events that, for the most part, just are references through random item descriptions
>Fans of the game on platforms such as gamefaqs, Yas Forums and other places talk about the meaning of the said item descriptions
>Some people come up with various fantheories and headcanons for the game's backstory or the journey of some of the NPCs you encounter in the game
>Enter Youtubers
>Various internet personalities make entire Youtube cannels dedicated to them read fantheories out loud while playing game footage in the background
>The easily digestible format of the videos causes a flood of retards who think it's THE TRUE STORY
>Whichever fan theory video got the most views becomes accepted as the canon story
>Dark Souls suddenly becomes labelled a game with a MASSIVE AND DEEP LOOOOOORE
>Retards pretend they came up with the story or 'realised it' themselves just by reading item descriptions ingame while berating those who still have the audacity to come up with their own interpretation of how fictional events unfolded
>Dark Souls get a sequel that shits so hard on the continuity of the original game's 'story' that the third instalment in the game has to make half of its story content bordering on prequel material [to DS1]
>After realising the game's story is a jumbled mess and there being no more fan theories to steal the Youtubers have to resort to data mining for cut content and previous iterations of item descriptions in order to come up with new material
>Half of the time it turns out the 'theory' is debunked just by reading the items' original Japanese description
You can't 'recapture' the magic of a video game. It has to appear organically by itself

remove fast travel
that's it
I don't even care that what'shisface has a fetish for low cost rolls

Dumb question, but is the knight on the front facing away or towards you? I assume away, as that feels like they are heading into the mist.

Away, it's Artorias entering the Abyss

yeah
he's wearing this set IIRC darksouls.wiki.fextralife.com/Elite Knight Set

sleep on it for 10 years and then make a spiritual successor using a very similar studio or by bringing back some of the talent

put it in a completely different setting like in ancient india
obviously you can bring back the dung pie

Are you serious? These games are a complete shit show.

Bloodborne is so fucking overrated. It's Sony's Majora's Mask. It's everyones favorite solely because it's seen as the black sheep of the series despite not actually being as good as other entries.
