Ehr, I'd rather them call it "Gears of War: Tactics" instead. I mean, it's still war, but now with a more tactical aspect. Gears Tactics makes no sense and Gears of Tactics somehow makes even less.

I think it's good, but it's mostly good by comparison. Like, the new Xcom Chimera Squad felt like ultra-leftist quip-garbage which makes stuff like Gears actually look quite cool in comparison. It also feels like the game was a passion project and not a corporate shitshow like most AAA games are these days.

Gears 5 is a great example of a game with a huge budget and no soul.
Gears Tactics is a smaller game with no budget but far more soul.

They could have made that big truck your base when you meet up with all those civilians too. I agree it is missing a lot from making it really great. Has a good framework to build on though.

I fucking hate base building shit.

It doesn't need to be base building, but any kind of content that breaks up all the samey combat missions would improve the game a lot. Considering its pricetag it feels really bare-bones. They've got the basics right, but for a $60 game I'm expecting more than just good basics.

I love the weapon customization. Always felt Xcom lacked that.

I have GamePass for PC. So, the $60 dollar price tag isn't effecting my opinion.

Multiple threads on Yas Forums right now are devolving into shitposting about trannies for literally no reason at all. I'm 99% sure it's some sort of coordinated shitposting effort.

I haven't watched all that much about it, because I want to go in blind-ish when I eventually pirate it. But i feel base building elements are required in this type of game, even if it's just basic shit like Darkest Dungeon. But I can't even say I'll be disappointed if it's lacking base management because my expectations are so low from AAA studios
