I gave up on the franchise after Rome II but they did such a good job with WH it started to make me care about TW again

My problem with Warhammer is that it popularized "heroes" in the series. Those are my least favorite thing in any strategy game

Saying it's the same thing over and over is disigenuous since all of the games have something unique about them that distinguishes them from the others, especially Warhammer

What do you think of this game? Pretty much everyone says that unit variety is garbage and as a result the gameplay suffers from it.

You unfortunately can't talk about Total War without those faggots shitposting about their favorite game

but that's simply not correct

ive put 100+ hours into the warhammer ones and i still come back to shogun 2 because the combat simply feels better

It's really good. The unit variety is the only weak part of the game to me, but that doesn't detract from the rest of the game. With hindsight it's definitely harder to ignore now that Warhammer exists but it's still one of the best Total War games regardless.
