bros i have played video games for over 15 years but never touched a mario game. how the fuck do i get past the momentum based movement? it feels so unnatural and weird. i really want to understand the appeal but i don't feel good beating a level and failing at one is very frustrating. the only 2d platformer i played before was hollow knight where everything you do happens immediately afterwards so maybe this is why i don't like the SMB games, idk

Fucking this. Will it be the best game ever? Not likely. Will it even be in my top 10? Probably not. Will I have a good time and feel pleased with my purchase? Definitely. I have never bought a mainline mario game and thought "what waste of time and a let down". Sonic fags would never understand
