>buff a character
>buff is immediately seen as game-breaking
>undo it in the next patch
Why couldn't they figure that out before patching the game? Shouldn't the impact of the change be fairly obvious just by its nature?

It seemed like a conflict between how the devs think the game should be balanced and how the players think the game should be balanced. Long term Tekken players believe that almost any situation can be escaped from safely with the correct knowledge and execution. The devs seem to think that philosophy creates too big a gap between new players and skilled veterans. Making the game easier to play and narrowing the divide between new players and long term players is something fighting game devs have bee trying for years. What they haven't seemed to realise all this time is that fighting games are inherently a mastery type of game that is only built with time, practice and dedication to learning and improving.
They tried to make hellsweep more favorable on Kaz's side by improving the tracking. This made using sidestep walking to escape Kaz's wavedash mixup less effective pretty much to the point of no longer working. So defending players were forced to play the mixup guessing game. This benefits Kaz but more importantly new players because the mixup was then stronger against even players with more experience. It seemed like a conflict between how the devs think the game should be balanced and how the players thinnk the game should be balanced.
Weeaaboos don't want to hear this but most fg devs are fucking terrible at playing the genre if they do it all.
Look at the fucking tekken 7 lobbies, no way harada is actively playing and enjoying this genre.
There are some exceptions like MikeZ and Keiths.
that's an extraordinary answer I did not expect to see here
there's a reason why the majority of tekken games are unconsidered to be completely unbalanced with borderline broken characters
You mean Keits? When's the last time he did anything?
Why don't we have any bandai characters in tekken yet? It's fucking BANDAI-namco for fucks sake. I want to see a digimon or tamagotchi in this game. Fucking Noxis & Negan made it before them. What the fuck man?
KI baby, best fg of the gen.
Same question but for Soul Calibur.
Literally why is there no Dark Soul Calibur? Add Solaire meme man and allow porting of created characters between games. This shit is free money.
based insight chad
Agumon would be a godly replacement for Alex since Alex is owned by some outside indie manga publisher that refuses to make Alex in any cameos. Then again, I'd also like to see Mametchi. He already appeared in a bamco made Mario kart game for the arcades so why not?
I meant besides that...
I feel like you're mixing him up with Gon.
Wait they already fucking unbuffed Kaz? A character who already required a lot of effort and skill to win with? Fucking christ, Tekken players are like Catholics, they abhor change to any gradient of a degree. Kazuya basically required knowing every single match up in the game, knowing how to whiff punish immaculately, and being able to KBD in your sleep.
But noooo, the big babbies find fault with Kazuya getting one buff, while King over there is a sleeper OP broken piece of shit who hasn't changed in his OP'ness since Tekken 3. Tekken community is so fucking cancerous. This is the same community has shunned any talk of removing KBD (you know, being able to move around a 3D plane without feeling like you have 1000 pounds strapped to each ankle).
I guess it is to be expected, because Murray and Harada are both solipsistic, vitriolic little rats. They deserve each other.
They took away Devil Jin's buff too.
But the EWGF change for all three Mishimas was left alone.
>I feel like you're mixing him up with Gon.
Yea, my bad; meant Gon. They should really look into it. It would be fucking great for digimon exposure and sales. A lot of people surprisingly don't know abou digimon or tamagotchi so including those two would do wonders for younger audiences today
thats why they invite pro players to help them out. Most of the big title owners do this.
I feel bad for you Tekken fags. It seems like no modern FGC games have no big flaws
Kaz is fucking braindead and that buff would make him even more braindead. A better buff for him would be to expand his backdash a little, so he can fish for whiffs better
The KBD needs to be gone by T8. Backdash into backdash should be a thing
How come no one does online tournament mode in my country? It's always the other countries that get full brackets but as soon I join them, I'm kicked for being where I'm at.
Because the mode is trash.
Online could be improved so much you have no idea
>Rollback netcode
>regional ranking
>searching opponents on practice mode
>searching for ranked and unranked at the same time
>team battle
>instant rematch without reload
>crossplay
T8 must have all of that
I don't know what Tekken would be like with rollback netcode. Feels like it'd be janky.
They are not balancing the game around the top players, and it's not a bad thing.
People are pussies but also the Tekken team are terrible at balancing. Kazuya has a fair amount of weaknesses against players with more experience and knowledge. This would have been fine with more time but the FGC tend to be hypocrites who keep saying "just adapt" when a patch comes out until it exposes where they're lacking as players
KI seems cool, but Keits was way too confrontational with players raising complaints. The game bled players at multiple play levels
Game dies if Koreans lose their crutch.
That would be absolutely fucking retarded.
KBD's great as an evasive tool. If you make an evasive tool too easy, the game becomes too turtley. Either that or you have to work in other counter-weaknesses to compensate.
Which would be stupid when instead you can just keep a mechanic (technically an exploit) with an execution barrier to prevent that. Just go back to baby games like cross tag.
This is this best fighting game post I've seen on Yas Forums, who ever you copied it from should be very proud.
Bamco are kind of dumb. They could easily have dominated the entire FGC with a bit more work, but instead decide to under fund and sell frame data.
>I NEED MY UNINTENTIONAL MOVEMENT GLITCH TO STAY IN, REEEEEEEE
At least Tekken get changes often. Others have to wait a year, or months and months of nothing.
>I NEED EVERYTHING TO BE AS EASY AS POSSIBLE BECAUSE I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE GENRE REEEEEEE
>Kaz
>braindead
Try button mashing with Kaz in ranked. Go on, I'll wait. If you genuinely think he's braindead, what in the actual fuck do you think of characters like King, Chloe, Eddy, Bears, etc
>I NEED MY MOVEMENT TO BE SUPER CONVOLUTED FOR NO OTHER REASON THAN MUH SUPER SECRET GLITCHY MOVEMENT BUG
>There are some exceptions like MikeZ and Keiths.
Then why does no one play their games? One is free and the other everyone bought for $1 years ago. All well and good to post on twitter about how much you get the genre, but if no one actually enjoys your games that much then you are clearly missing something.
Meanwhile people want to play Tekken with a shitty lobby system.
