so it felt like a slog to play through where I had to pay attention but wasn't feeling engaged

I can see people enjoying this because mechanically it's actually well designed and looks decent but all of the artistic decisions in this game made me drop it at the third planet

Because it wasn't like the rest.
The MC was deeply flawed, didn't shit one any established movie stuff, massacred every single major character and showed Dark vader being worth his hype.
Also the space battle was really fucking nice while telling a fairly simple story about love between a father and his daughter and how that helped the rebellion, which actually ties into the star wars movies.

Haven't seen that but I saw a youtube clip linked here about some full cringe force gods, and heard somewhere it even has mecha Darth Maul and his actual brother called something like Evil Badman and black lightsabers. It could pass as a straight up parody. Honestly, if it's not based straight on the movies or isn't a full OC in the same spirit like Manaan in KotOR, then fuck off with it. The expanded universe is pretty much nothing but trash, just don't involve that shit.

TCW is pretty consistently good user, it essentially redeems the prequel-era setting and delivers on it in a way the films never did. Sure as shit better than anything Disney put in cinemas.
