FF7 Re is a great game and the combat was really good. Square did a good job blending free and turn based combat into one. I wish hard mode was available at the start since that has been most fun for me but whatever.

It literally doesn't matter what other games come out this year. The Last of Us 2 won Game of the Year when they confirmed the 2020 release. Yes everyone is going to hate it. Even most journalists will hate it, considering it's about TERFs. But it's going to win. That's the nature of the industry.
The only way I could even imagine it losing is if Breath of the Wild 2 released this year

Wrong. You’re referring to the 15 hour vid but if you actually watched it you would see that he included dialogue between characters (even with gameplay happening) as cutscenes. 9 hours of cutscenes in a 40 hour game is not bad and you’re all looking for something to complain about.
