First of all, the Xeno fanbase has always been like this.
This is because Xenogears was supposed to be FF7 originally.
FF7 literally stole ideas from Xeno as it developed, this made the early fans BORN INTO RAGE and it developed from there.
During Xenosaga this continued with a series of events i'm not familiar with myself because i was playing other shit at the time.
Secondly, XC1 was an underrated, obscure masterpiece for many years and the fans had to fight teeth and nails for people to recognize how good it was compared to other, overrated JRPGs, trying to stave away the UNENDING SEA of "it's just a singleplayer MMORPG" and "all you do is autoattack" comments that persist to this day.
Thirdly, XCX was massively shat on on anything, from it's overall quality to the artstyle to the system it was on, and that fueled even more asspain, so much so that it created perma-mentally ill rageholics such as Xfag.
And lastly, XC2 happened, with people shitting on it even more, and shutting down it's fans when it came to discussing it's mechanical accomplishments and the nuances of it's combat system, with new endless droneposting of "it's too anime ughhh".
In short, to be a Xeno fan, ANY TYPE of Xeno fan, is to be constantly pissed off.
It doesn't matter what Xeno game you like, everyone fucking hates YOU and they hate YOUR GAME and your entire life is nothing but trying to stand your ground on what you like, and having to deal with other JRPG fanbase of games you know are clearly not even that good, smugly shit on what you like because they didn't even spend the time to get to know any of these games on a serious level.
To like Xeno is to be pissed off at everyone, even other Xeno fans.
It's completely expected.
