2500k, still the king

>still hasn't be bottlenecked
Why would you even upgrade?

>stutters
dude upgrade to 2600k already it's fucking 2020

>have i5 4460
>seemingly didn't didn't bottleneck a 970 at first
>spectre and meltdown patch was such a huge impact on performance that it now bottlenecks it by 20%
Soon as my trump bux comes in, I'm upgrading to a 8700k, sadly this means I'll have to also get a new mobo and ram too.

MHW is using 8 threads on my laptop

Enjoy while I use the i5-2550k, poorfag.

My i7 4790k bottlenecks at high refresh but mostly because games aren't using all cores.

Nah man, it's getting really old now. Wish I had a stronger cpu for TW Warhammer 2; I mean the game has dogshit optimization but the cpu could really help.

>8700k
Why not the latest i5? If you want to stick with intel, might as well pick the latest gen.

Where my Core 2 Duo Chads at?

>i5 in 2020

intel is fucking aids compared to amd ryzen

if amd ryzen didn't exist and intel didn't have any problems then this would be a good cpu but no it's ass

Someone please tell me how Total War Rome II runs on this. I need to upgrade so I can have battles with more than one stack per side without the frame rate dropping into the single digits. PLEASE I WANT IT I NEED IT.

>intel CPUs

Get with the times gramps

I bought a Ryzen 3600 for $150 and it's freaking amazing, it doesn't bottleneck even in Battlefield 5. Why is AMD so based?

>upgrade
>to a 2500k
>in 2020
What kind of CPU do you fucking have?

I still use a Q6600

Delusional corelet

All CPUs bottleneck less in modern games because they actually use the whole CPU now.

At least upgrade to a cheap i54460 or something

????

>I'm upgrading to a 8700k
please don't do this anonymous, just wait for 10th gen or get ryzen - much better value

>still hasn't be bottlenecked
Wrong. Try Monster Hunter World. t. 2500k owner
>b-b-but it's a bad port.. doesn't count!
Pathetic. Just accept the reality, no one is immortal.

>i5-10400
>6 cores 12 threads
>i7-8700k
>6 cores 12 threads
Whatever floats your boat, dude.

also new cards soon bro, just wait a little bit

>8700k
Get the R7 3700X retard, what the fuck are you doing?

The 3600 is pure cum
Intcels are so fucking blown the fuck out by it. They shot themselves in the foot so hard they're two gens behind AMD now, absolutely pathetic. There's not a single reason to buy an intel chip. Even the 3600 has better single core than most intel chips. You end up with the only chips that beat it in single core made by intel are like 300 bucks more expensive

What games?

I actually meant to say the 9700k

>threadless

3700x recommendation still stands.

>I actually meant to say the 9700k
just wait for the 10700k - 8/16 for the same price

Doesn't change anything, R7 3700X is still the superior choice.

>he didnt buy the i7 2600k

point at i5 2500k fags
point and laugh

The latest gen is 1-2 months out and its a new socket. I'm waiting patiently sitting on a Skylake 6600k, which is 25% slower than the CoffeLake (18% slower single core)

Dude youre gonna have to get a new mobo
Get new ram
You may as well go ryzen. Its significantly cheaper and more powerful. I have the same cpu and my planned build is a 130 dollar b450 mobo, a ryzen 3600, 16gb 2x8 3200 ram, an m2 ssd, and its way, way, way cheaper than the cheapest comparable intel upgrade I could come up with. Seriously the intel mobos were way more expensive, the i5 was way, way more expensive. No reason for it user, trust me on this

Doesn't matter when Ryzen is still a better platform for literally anyone who doesn't have thousands of dollars to burn.

>still hasn't be bottlenecked
Wrong.

On my RTX2060 the 2500K hit 100% CPU usage with very low GPU usage in many games (Deus Ex Mankind Divided, Kingdom Come Deliverance, Withcer 3 etc). I got a 3770K for 73€, delidded it and OC'd it to 4.5GHz but it's still bottlenecking the RTX2060 in many games, need to get a Ryzen 3600 or 3700X soon.

>still hasn't be bottlenecked
im-fucking-plying
enjoy your 10fps 0.1% lows my dude

Games use a lot of cores now.

I think Intel cpus are a little better when it comes to single core still but AMD pricing is too good right now. Also I like how you don't even need to bother with overclocking.

>playing old shit

Escape From Tarkov especially, but that's a pretty low standard. I get about 80-110 FPS. Which is a lot, don't get me wrong, but it's using like 99% of one core and 25% of the others and my GPU only hits 100% usage of I'm playing offline mode with no NPCs or players eating the CPU.

10th gen is coming out in a month, gigabyte is doing an announcement tomorrow. But up to you, if you want to save money.

>not having an overclocked i5 2500k on a asus p67
jesus christ, what kind of a pleb are you? best money ive ever spent, this thing is still going.

It still holds up to this day but you're deluded if you think it doesn't bottleneck the shit out of post 2018 games.

lmao i7 920 chad

I mostly play older RTS's so I dont need anything too fancy. 2500k seems like a good affordable upgrade since I'll need a new mobo and probably ram.

>rtx 2060 paired with a 2500k
Hurts to read. That sounds absolutely awful.
I'd sell the 2060 before its price tanks from the next gen. Card sucks even in it's own series. Get a 2070, or a 2060 super, or even a new gen card. Get yourself a ryzen man, having to get a new mobo sucks but its worth it. Maybe pandemic pricing will let you net a little profit off the 2060 anyways

u are a moron if u think this cpu is still relevant.

3770k since 2013
Maybe i will upgrade it in 2-4 years

can't get z77 motherboards anymore
I have a really good overclocking 2600k and an ivy bridge xeon I can't use
just got a 9700k/z390 because of that

>R7 3700X
>RTX2070S
Feels good man

Upgrading to SB would be rather silly when you can get used Haswell shit for almost the same price. I've seen used haswell dell workstations with i7s and 16GB of ram for $50 at junk recycle shops. Win7 ending caused the used market to be absolutely fucking flooded with them after businesses dumped them in mass in the last 2-3 years.

>still hasn't be bottlenecked
I can't imagine still thinking this.

4690k owner here.

I currently have a 2gb AMD video card from 2011.
Is a 1080 for $300 a good deal or am i buying into some old shit?

Attached: 1574305575779.gif (500x283, 2.53M)

True but I don't even bother because I have a notebook for old games anyway. I bought my CPU to emulate and play newer games, as long as it delivers in that aspect it's fine.

I like teardrop tits

Based

are you talking about a i5 4690k?
no the bottleneck is too huge.

I have 2500 without k

r5 1600 master race
I bought AMD when it WASNT cool

whats the bottle neck, the cpu or video card if you dont mind me asking. Yeah a i5 4690k

>not having an i7 minimum
Fuckin casuals, also someone want to answer why 1070s cost more than the fucking 2070 and almost as much as a 2080? Shit is supposed to go down in price, not surpass the new cards. I got a 2070 for like 300$ while everywhere I look the 1070 is going for 500, for what fucking purpose?
